Anyone making a calendar?

The desktop calendars really help me during Nano and since I'm taking online courses this April a page count calendar might help keep me on track. Did anyone make one? Does anyone know the minimum page count per day in order to get it done?

RE: Anyone making a calendar?

I guess its pointless for me to respond, since I am totally not a good time-manager; but since I am a full-time student (not to be confused with someone who hasn't finished high school. Or hasn't started, for that matter) I sympathize.
The page count would be three and one-third; which would actually come out to be 101, if I did, indeed, count all my fingers precisely. A calender is not a bad idea, however I intend to use the all-purpose student method of keeping track: writing reminders on my arm in marker and my page count on a piece of scrap paper that will be lost a week in. And then spending my birthday (april 25th) frantically writing the last 70 or so pages. And then, having finished my life's purpose, I will stick sewing needles in my eyes and give all my possesions to andy, who is pantsonahotpotatoe, and a dear friend for being seduced into this terrible enterprise.
Good luck to you.

RE: Anyone making a calendar?

Hmm, I don't like that part about needles in the eyes. The rest sounds like a fun month though.

I won't be making a calendar... yet. I might later on if I'm not doing well.

and as stated, it would be 3.333 pages a day.

RE: Anyone making a calendar?

I made one last year - and I made one this year. I was just about to post a nice new thread for it, so you get a sneak preview link. :-p

RE: Anyone making a calendar?

I was hoping someone was going to come up with a calendar, tried one myself with...lets say not so spectacular results. As with NaNo, if I didn't have a calendar to work from I wouldn't know where I was.
Thanks Torak!

RE: Anyone making a calendar?

I could make a desktop background calendar if you like - I made a NaNo one last year, took about 4 hours though so I may have to do it over the course of the weekend.
What sort of screen resolutions are we talking here? (so I know what sizes to make 'em in :P)

RE: Anyone making a calendar?

Not really a calendar, but I make a spreadsheet every year--sort of a report card--and use it to keep track of my target page count as well as what I actually type. If you're interested, you can download it here.

WrittenWord, I tried looking at your calendar and couldn't - it never downloaded. Is there a trick? A secret handshake? LOL

Thanks!

Here we are - I made a set of backgrounds, and added a couple for iPhones :D

Took me 2 hours - not bad considering my NaNo one took 4...

RE: Anyone making a calendar?

These calendars are awesome, thanks for making them and sharing them!! Unfortunately, I will not be using any of them ...
While I will be making up a list of where I should every day to strike fear into my heart and get me writing--it worked wonders with NaNo--my schedule's not quite balanced enough to allow me to actually use 3.33 or 4 pages per day as an actual schedule. I hardly ever write on Sundays, for example, because they're busy days for me. (I could write on the bus if I had a working laptop, but alas, it's broken.) Even during NaNo, I only wrote on one Sunday, and it was maybe a couple hundred words.
So I'll have to make my own calendar; you guys have inspired me!

RE: Anyone making a calendar?

As a high school student with absolutely no time management skills whatever (case in point: I /should/ be working on a journalism assignment at the moment.) a calendar would mean nothing to me. (My English teacher is convinced that I have no concept time and the phrase "six weeks" makes about as much sense as "The birthday miracle of wonders continues, Shamu" does to him. He is probably right) So I'm basically planning to write four pages a day, which probably /won't/ work out for me because I have issues with counting to three, much less keeping track of my page count. So I'll be lucky if I'll have writing on 100 pages. I'm planning to keep everything on the computer, but eventually I'll start writing on my cell phone, paper, or my arm, planning to type it up later. This probably /isn't/ going to work, but I can keep hoping for organizational skills, I s'pose.

RE: Anyone making a calendar?

Me too! I'm a high school student and I have no time management skills or something like that. I prefer to try to write as many as I could in order to finish my first script frenzy goal! :D

RE: Anyone making a calendar?

By the way, does anyone want/need a calendar for any other resolutions than the ones I already made? I could try and whip up something next Tuesday when I have some spare time (cutting it a bit fine but I'll be in France the weekend before Screnzy starts).
I was planning to make a 1280*800 one anyway for my laptop, but if other people need any widescreen resolutions then I can upload them to my dA account.

RE: Anyone making a calendar?

I'm cowriting and we have assigned days to write, since we are still in school, we have to do our homework sometime :) Hopefully we'll keep up the goal of about 3 pages a day, but chances are we'll end up writing it all over the weekends. :P

RE: Anyone making a calendar?

I made some! I know a lot of people are having issues with getting the pictures to fit on their desktops, but these fit mine, so they should be fine...

A simple one: http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h133/kitsune_sumurika/Calendarorigcopy...

One with quotes: http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h133/kitsune_sumurika/Quotesretestcopy...

Also, I put the days in four-page intervals... just to be on the safe side. I'd rather think "Write four pages" than "Write three and one third pages."

RE: Anyone making a calendar?

Since I stink at the whole computer editing graphics thing... can someone make up a calendar for me with a 5 page/day minimum ... (my goal is 120-150 pages)

I will pay in cookies and juice...

RE: Anyone making a calendar?

If you are facing problems while making your own calender than I would like to refer you time and attendance software. This will help you in preventing problems while making your own customized calender.
