Anyone else working on a pilot? |
This year I decided to work up a pilot for a one hour serial. First time doing this, so it should be fun.

RE: Anyone else working on a pilot? |
Yup, I'm doing a two-part pilot for a half-hour show, plus whatever other episodes I have planned that I feel like working on. (But of course, the part of the plot that's least developed is the part in the pilot. >.>)

I want to do a 2-part pilot (like 1 1/2 hrs) but i'm not sure exactly what I want to do it about, too many snippets of ideas from past years.

Yep, pilot for a one-hour supernatural/detective show.
I'm gonna send it to the BBC with the tagline, 'like ITV's 'Demons', but good.'

RE: Anyone else working on a pilot? |
I did a pilot of an anime last year. I had great fun with it. This year, I'm writing a pilot for a supernatual government agency drama. Maybe me and Spooky Cactus should become writing buddies. ^_^
Not that I plan to actually send my scripts off with the intent to see my show on the air. It's more of a writing exercise for me.

RE: Anyone else working on a pilot? |
I might do a pilot if I can figure out how to work this idea I've had bouncing in my head for the past 11 years. Otherwise, I don't know because I'm ridiculously bad at writing pilots, I always write the second episode before the pilot so that I kinda know where the pilot *has* to end up, and also so that I can practice writing the characters before trying to figure out a way to introduce them.

RE: Anyone else working on a pilot? |
I'm writing a pilot for a half-hour sitcom. But since a half hour of screen time only equals about 50 pages, I'm going to write two episodes. Actually, I'm so attached to my plot idea that I'll probably end up writing like 10 seasons' worth of episodes even after the Screnzy.
Actually, I don't have a plot idea yet. But when I get one, I know I'll be very attached to it.

I want to write a pilot, but the sitcom always seems to escape me. You know those mornings when you wake up and it's in your head, but then it goes away only to come back at other unfortunate times where something to catalog it is nowhere near?
Well, that's what happens to me.

I have now decided to do a pilot. I think it will be about a teenage spy (female) and her double life.
That's all I have so far. Not a lot but its something.

I'm writing a pilot for a vampire show - I know vampires are a bit played out anymore, but it's what I feel like writing and since I have no intentions of ever trying to get this show on the air, I figured, "what they heck? Be like everyone else for a change!"

Yeh, I'm writing a pilot this year (well, as much of the series as I can.) I tried to write a pilot last year as well, but other commitments meant I only wrote 13 pages.

Yep, I'll be writing a Pilot, and also the second episode.
It's a 1 hour drama/sci-fi/horror show. I've been planning for months and can't wait to write it

I'm writing a pilot to my Sci-fi idea that I've had for 3 years. I've already rewritten in my head about 3 times today.

I'm writing a pilot this year, and at least one other episode. I'm actually turning my script idea from last year into a tv show this year, since it's better suited for tv.

Why, yes!
I am going to do a pilot! =D This is my first year doing Script Frenzy (I tried doing Nano in November and I failed miserably. @_@) So, I'm not sure what I'm going to write about but I figure I have a few weeks to work out what I want. And I know that I want to do a television series.

RE: Anyone else working on a pilot? |
I just submitted a pilot to SlamDance (deadline just passed). For SF, I'm considering writing the 3rd season premiere that could be easily adapted to a standalone/MOW. SF is a good place to do that because that justifies jamming in way too much background info on the first draft.
What's weird is the pilot was one-hour, but the 3rd season premiere will be 2 hours.

That's the plan now (I have a bad habit of changing my mind about what I'm writing two days before it actually starts).

I'll be doing a feature-length pilot for a sci-fi series I'm planning. I'll probably never get around to shopping it, but it'd be fun.

RE: Anyone else working on a pilot? |
I have done a pilot for a TV series, it started out being fun, I soon started ripping my hair out. Just to make sure the series could continue I tried doing it myself, but I could only come up with enough ideas for 22 I hour episodes, it was then that I found out this place isn't sound proof.
Where to send my idea to? and what country, IE Australia doesn't do TV shows for young adults.
The required format for one place isn't necessarily what is accepted by another place.
Then there's the time allowed for commercials.
They have just started doing the occasional one minute commercial here. Try working that into a script, oh what fun.
What about a TV station that does not have commercials?.
And as for film scripts! Holy crap!! Taking that one page is roughly one minute of air time, the BBC want 70 to 95 pages. Some places say 95 to 125 with 114 paged being the best length.
So pick the place where you intend to send the idea to first, find out what and how they expect it and do a separate version for each place. Then keep a copy of that version, as trying to remember what you wrote a year ago can be fun.

Yup, I'll be doing a pilot.
Purely for my own enjoyment, however. Australian TV is very, very limited. I wouldn't have any hopes for it being picked up here.

RE: Anyone else working on a pilot? |
I'm doing a pilot on a sitcom about what happens before business hours in a department store. I'm using my own life and work experiences, and exaggerating them greatly.
I have no intention (yet) of sending my scripts to Hollywood. This is purely for soul purging reasons.

This is my first Frenzy and I definately want to do a pilot. I have this strange sci/fi thriller concept and I have to get it on paper. I can't wait until the first.

Pilot here, too. I'm envisioning it as an Anime. . . It's my own story, set in the world of Shadowrun.
I just wish my characters would give me plot. . right now they're just giving me snippets of scenes.*sigh*

I'm writing a pilot and probably two additional episodes. I wish I had the wherewithal to write a whole season, though, because I know nobody else is going to write it.
*
Screnzy 09: "Mercy", pilot and two episodes of a TV show. It's like a cross between Sliders and ER.
NaNo 08: The Chrysanthemum Escapement. Won!
Screnzy 08: Ceres. Failed.
NaNo 07: The Dragon Herald. Failed.
NaNo 06: Jer O'Kira. Won!
