Any Librettists?

I've heard of people writing musicals for this. Anyone planning on taking it to the next level and diving into the deep, dark, melodramatic world of opera script writing? I think I'm going to go for a libretto this year, and see how it works out.

Myself, I don't think I could do the genre justice. However, the fact that you are tackling such a thing is really spectacular, I'm so impressed! I'll be cheering you on!

Wow, a libretto. Good Luck, and remeber, everything from Miss Saigon to Don Giovanni is considered a libretto, so have fun.

RE: Any Librettists?

I'm a composer. would be interested in taking on a challenge of writing a score in 30 days. Let me know what's up. I like solid craftsmenship. Not interested in a rock score. Like comedy.

RE: Any Librettists?

Huh, I never thought about doing the rock opera in my head for this. I've been trying to fit in a "forum board" style story in this mess. But it's just not coming. I've been putting off composing the opera for lack of a keyboard, but what the hell. I'm game.

RE: Any Librettists?

actually I've been thinking about that too! although I'm not writing the score this month too (that would be too much!) I'm thinking about picking a month sometime to try to write a full score (maybe 20 or 30 minute-long one for any instrumentation?) sometime. Truthfully, I prefer composing to writing, but I still enjoy writing, so I still do Frenzy and NaNo. Still, a National Score Writing Month is an interesting concept...
