Epic writers?

Anyone writing an epic? Like Gladiator or Braveheart? How's it going?

RE: Epic writers?

The project I'll be working on for this is an epic. I already posted some of the details in the sci-fi/fantasy section.

RE: Epic writers?

I'm writing an adaptation of an adventure novel. It's gonna be weird, as usually I'm more of a drama/comedy girl. i'm going through the novel now, pulling out the important bits.
So far, so good.
It's the not starting yet that's hard.

RE: Epic writers?

I'm planning to write a screen version (probably a mini-series) of Vergil's Aeneid - which is an epic poem itself!

RE: Epic writers?

I'm writing sort of a mini-epic and the request of one of my characters. She wants her story to be told-- but in a rather quick fashion. "A short play for a short life," she said... Well, her story is an amazing (looooong) saga, so I dodn't know how this is going to work out.

Hah. I'm listening to the whims of my imaginary friends. What next?

RE: Epic writers?

Hm, not sure if it's really epic. My story is set in a post-scifi now-fantasy world where some people rediscover the scifi heritage. If that makes any sense. It seems epic in my head ;)

RE: Epic writers?

Well, the title of my script is EPIC, but I don't really think of it as one. I mean, it's about war, but not so much the huge battles with gallons of bloodshed, its more of a cold war. Its about a team of spies (Codename: EPIC) who kick ass on a weekly basis. If that doesn't sound too cliche.

RE: Epic writers?

Mine's a fantasy RPG, so I just sort of assume that it will turn out epic. I've already got all the important bits, like the huge desert and the ancient high-tech spaceship. ;P No airship yet... I wonder if the Cynthia still flies?

RE: Epic writers?

Ah, it feels so good to be back in the Action/Adventure section. I was planning to do a sitcom this year, but in the end, I realised I just didn't have enough ideas for it (yet - next year, maybe) and I'd already had this idea for a while.

I doubt many of you played the Untold Legends games that came out for the PSP in it's earlier years, but after playing them I had an idea for a final blockbustin' sequel... it's going to be pretty epic!

RE: Epic writers?

I'm writing a script about the Norse vikings discovering the new land they called Vinland. I'm inspired by the tone and the visuals of recent Chinese epics like Hero and Flying Daggers. The narrative is structured like the old Norse sagas.

RE: Epic writers?

Hello! yes foolishly although I have a much smaller scope script plan up my sleeve, I thought I'd do the epic first! its set in ancient greece, at the oracle of delphi - there is going to be a battle, which I'm sort of dreading writing. And I'm even in greece doing some research (and having a holiday) which was supposed to speed my writing, shame I've only done 4 pages... Good luck everyone!
