Hello!

Firstly, today I both watched the last ever episode of Kyle XY and finally decided to sign up to Script Frenzy. :)

Due to the excitement of a writing challenge and the utter dissapointment with Kyle's series finale (or lack thereof, actually), it was only a matter of minutes before I decided what I was going to spend the month of April doing... Ending the Kyle XY series with a bang! Or at least trying to.

I've written some stories (nothing major) but I've never written fanfic, or a TV script. So... I'm looking for someone, possibly a fan who might wanna help me out, or just be there to help me bounce a few ideas... :D

(PS: I'm still getting used to the site... It's a little confusing...)

You're kidding! I'm a fan of the show too and was so disappointed in the whole season 3. I've actually rewritten and wrote a new script throughout the month of March and plan on writing even more (new) episodes of Kyle XY. That's my intent for this April. I couldn't stand the finale either. It was so unlike Kyle. They are not being consistent with who he is. I don't know if you're a Kyle and Amanda fan or a Kyle and Jessie fan so I'll warn you ahead of time, I'm a Kyle and Amanda fan. I didn't think the writer's wrote her well this season. But hey, if you want to bounce ideas off, I'd love it.

Hmmm...I guess you could say I'm a Kyle/Jessi fan. Although who Kyle ended up with wasn't a very big deal for me. :D
But while Kyle's relationship with Amanda was very cute, I always found it a bit too innocent and a bit... Bland? His relationship with Jessi had the potential of being complicated, passionate, volatile and a lot more fun to write/explore... So because of that, and the fact they seemed to be heading in that direction for season 4, I'll be heading in that direction too. I hope that's not a problem? I'd still like to bounce ideas regarding the main plot. :)

For all it's worth, I think in the very end, Kyle would most likely choose to end up alone...

Since I'm headed in an entirely different direction (mostly because I'm rewriting season 3 which I found to be very inconsistent) I wouldn't mind bouncing any main plot ideas.

I found it odd at the end when Cassidy said he was Kyle's brother. I thought Kyle was cloned from Adam, that's why they looked exactly alike. Same with Jessi looking exactly like Sara. I thought they were already clones. Also got the impression when Kyle came home to an empty house and only Cassidy was there, I'm wondering if the family was kidnapped!

They also seemed to be making Kyle darker, which I didn't like. Seemed out of character for what he's always believed in up until now. So if you have plans to continue where they left off, did you have in mind that they really are brothers or half brothers? Or have it so Cassidy was only saying that to save his hide?

Oh I see... Any specific parts you're re-writing?

This is what I've been thinking....

I'm not expert, but my idea of cloning is: Get a female fertilized egg, 'pull out' the DNA coding from the nucleus and replace it with the DNA you wanna clone. (I'm gonna have a look into cloning and stuff, see if I can understand how it actually works...) Soooooooo.... Since Grace was Latnok, I was thinking I could have Adam use her as a donor for his experiment, making her, in a way, Kyle's mother and Cass his brother. (That way we could also explain how Brian Taylor is Jessi's father?)
My problem is, Adam created Kyle during his time at Zzyzx. Was he part of Latnok then? And were Zzyzx and Latnok ever connected? I never really got that...

Also, my sis asked why Adam didn't use Sarah has a donor, since they were in love and stuff. She went missing before Kyle was created right?

Oh yes, the empty house. I believe that Cass cloned Kyle's phone in order to get everyone to meet Kyle at the rack. At least that's what I understood from what Cass said... :D

and yeah it would be too easy way out for Cassidy to say that in order to save himself. I too wonder why Adam and Sara didn't use their DNA together to clone Kyle since they were in love. Instead it was Sara and Brian Taylor's DNA that was used to create Jessi. Sounded too like a love triangle between Adam, Sara and Brian?? Not sure the real story there, they never did explain that relationship. I think though all three were a part of Latnok then. Of course if it were Adam and Sara's DNA to create Kyle and Sara and Brian's DNA to create Jess, then Kyle and Jessi would be half brother and half sister! Which means any romantic relationship would be out.

I don't think Zzyzx and Latnok were ever connected. Although why didn't Adam use Latnok as his resource and backers when creating the experiment makes me wonder too.

Must have missed that last part how he got everyone to meet Kyle at the Rack. Will have to rewatch that.

I don't know why the Adam/Sarah/Brian story was never explained. They just sort of hinted at it and left it hanging... Speaking of Brian, whatever happened to him?? I honestely can't remember. One episode he was there and the next he's gone...

This Zzyzx/Latnok bussiness is baffling me... I'm at a loss at the moment on how to write out this plot hole... :(

On a brighter note, seems my cloning theory is just about right. :)

above is some background information but it doesn't say anything about a link between Zzyzx and Latnok. I think Zzyzx was Adam's idea and got financial backing with the help of Professor Kern, but those backers (which included Madacorp) had other plans. As for Brian, once Jessi refused to go to Latnok with him, Foss came by and gave him a one way ticket to leave and never come back. I think that was S2 E22 (Hello...).

Funny that in S2E1 The Prophet I got the impression it was just Adam's DNA used to clone Kyle, so he would be both mother and father to him. But I could have been wrong.

How did you find Season 3? Heard they had two new writer's come on when a couple of the original writers left. That's why the whole tone of it changed. I found from episode 2 on they never really showed his amazing abilities. And what was the purpose of having a psychic? He's practically psychic himself, he can sense any danger, he doesn't need it pointed out. In my version I took the psychic out :)

I also found in E4 while drunk Kyle could tear through a steel wire fence like it was cobweb yet in E5 he couldn't even move a rock to free Nicole???? Also, what about his power to heal? He could have healed Nicole no problem. Very inconsistent. So in my version he does all that. Have to figure out some other way though to get him into Latnok :)

So, how about this idea, if Latnok isn't affiliated with Zzyzx then Latnok will have their own agenda for Kyle. Considering Foss got rid of Zzyzx anyway, maybe Latnok can be a whole new ball game, so to speak.

You're right, season 3 was a bit different...
But I think they went about Kyle's abilities the wrong way in general. The only thing different about Kyle is his 'superbrain'. In my world 'superbrain' means super genius intelligence. Not super strength. Kyle started out as a super smart kid and ended up as a character from Heroes. But I guess the abilities made the show more interesting, and some of them did made kinda sense... And yeah, it was all very inconsistent. Like when Kyle went to save Amanda, he shattered a steel door by freezing it or whatever. What?! He never used that ability before, he never used it again, and it was never mentioned/explained or even hinted at...

The psychic was also a bit odd. Why did Cassidy need her? To drive Kyle and Amanda appart? Bring Jessi and Kyle closer? None of that would make sense since a: he knew Kyle would do anything for Amanda, so keeping her in his life would be a good way to get to him, and b: Latnok thinks Jessi is 'broken' and they don't want her, so keeping her appart from Kyle would be best. Unless the plan was for Amanda to fall in the water. And how exactly was he planning to stage that...? Badly thought out. So how does the episode run without the psychic? She was the reason Kyle was being over protective of Amanda and why she was in the boat at the end...

btw, I was considering having Foss (I love Foss and all his coolness!)come in and maybe kill Cassidy... I thought it would be cool, and very Foss like, but then i'd be short of a bad guy... maybe not such a good idea.... hmmmm...

hmmm, considering Kyle doesn't like it when Foss "kills" off anyone (like the time he took care of Zzyzx with a bomb and Kyle did not like that) I've noticed Foss doesn't do as much "killing" off anymore. Which in a way is good, but I do like the fact that he takes care of things. And yes it would be nice to see more of him. I really like his character too! Unless it's a kill or be killed situation, then I can see Foss killing Cassidy. And Cassidy wouldn't be the only bad guy, what about all those other Latnok members that were there the night Kyle rescued Amanda? Haven't seen anyone of them around since then either.

I used Cassidy's presence more to have Kyle be very protective of Amanda. Then in E3 Electric Kiss I had him tell the truth about himself to her. Still used a lot of the same dialogue they had, some of it was very good. But definitely changed the outcome :)

Yeah, it would be more cool to use and make use of his and Jessi's abilities more.

Yeah I don't think Foss would kill Cass without a very strong reason, especially with Kyle present. I was thinking of having a big stand off between Kyle, Foss and Cass. With Jessi and Amanda showing up in the middle of it, cause a hell lot of confusion... I might just run with that, see how it turns out...

I'm a bit weary of introducing a new character... But i'd like to bring in Grace... Any ideas on who could play her? I think having a picture in may head would make it easier...

Btw, when you said that Foss gave Brian a one way ticket, I though you meant he killed him... I was like 'I really don't remember that!' Then I went and rewatched E22 and it turns out it was an actual one way ticket. lol :)

have you tried to google for any pictures? Might get ideas on what Grace might look like or how you would want her to look like. Sounds like a good plan to have those three facing off.

Yeah, they have introduced a lot of new characters, need to keep focused on who's who by now. I made a list of who all starred in S1 then in S2 and a little bit now in S3, just to keep them straight in my head.

I think I found the perfect Grace Kingsley! An irish actress called Fionnula Flanagan... Do you watch Lost? She played Eloise Hawking a couple of times. And I think she was in that Kidman movie, 'The Others'... I think Eloise is a bit like what I imagine Grace to be so... :)

Only two days left... I'm getting all excited... hehe... Time to put all my notes together...!

My plans are to finish transcribing E10 then incorporating a couple more S3 episodes into how I think they should have gone then do an aftermath of how his life will be like after "taking care of" Latnok. Whole new world. Whole new problems. Soon he'll be finished high school so what life will be like in college maybe.

You know how Deakman was telling Kyle how all those superheroes had secret identities? Nothing really came of it, but then his abilities weren't fully developed. Now that they are... he has to hide them or can't let others see what he's really capable of doing or risk having enemies get to him through his family. Maybe have him leading a double life. So many possibilities.

But don't think that's going to happen in just two days so will stick to doing just two whole new episodes. I'll do one with him and Amanda in mind, something before or what could have been in S3. So my S3 will have more than 10 episodes!

I remember Deakman... I thought they were going to make him a regular or something... But he just kinda vanished... As for Kyle and his double life... As long as you don't make him wear spandex, I don't mind. :) But yeah, I would have liked the chance to see Kyle in college... It's such a life changing place, I think he would have the chance to really live life, if you know what I mean. Gain experience or something. Develop his abilities to the max...

Right now, I'm planning on just writing two extra episodes for season 3. I'm hoping I'll be able to wrap things up... I got some working tittles for the episodes... 'Blood and Tears' and 'Dawn of the Revolution'.

Oh and I rewatched 'The Prophet' last night, and Adam told Kyle that the experiment 'was supported by a secret group of visionairies, great humanitarians, known as Latnok.' I thought Zzyzx was created by Adam and Prof. Kern, with finantial backing from Madacorp...

Sounds interesting your titles. One title I have in mind is "Graduation Day" after he "takes care" of Latnok and he can resume his life. But no, I won't have him wear spandex! Will have him lead a double life though, not that he's not already doing that. Only his family and closest friends know the truth about him.

Probably Adam did create Zzyzx supported by Latnok but when he brought Kern on, Kern had the financial backing from Madacorp, which in turn had them have different plans for how Adam's experiment should go. But if Latnok were the original supporters why didn't they stop that from happening? Wouldn't it have been in their best interests not for some other group to come in with more military applications? Or big corp exploitation? Their original mission statement was not to see that type of exploitation and military applications from happening! Who knows what Latnok's real agenda is???

Will just have to make up our own!

Did you notice to that in S3 Episode 10 Kyle called Adam's experiment misguided? Like he judged Adam for it yet in S2E1 the Prophet, he only asked Adam why he created him and learned it was because Adam was lonely. He was more compassionate why Adam did what he did, less judgmental. That is Kyle's charm, he doesn't need to be "bad" to be mature, he already was/is mature and wise beyond his years - instinctively knowing right from wrong, he just didn't know things regarding social behaviors. Hope I can bring that charm back.

Yey! it's go time for me! I don't think I'm doing too bad... It's a little difficult to start, but once you get the ball rolling it's not too bad. I think my biggest problem is that I'm always trying to go back and edit myself... Instead of just writing... Argh... I also hope the creativity doesn't fizzle out in the next couple of days!

Regarding Kyle's 'darker side', it may seem out of character a bit, but I think the writers were trying to show that he's growing up, in a way. He started of with the innocence of a child, but has he gains life experience (or whatever) he loses that innocence, as we all do, and starts to look at things differently. While Kyle is still Kyle, the battle agaisnt Madacorp and Latnok has forced him to 'grow up' so to speak, and I think that was inevitable. The reason he is so determined to stop Latnok is because he doesn't want anyone to go what he went through, by spending their lives in a pod. I think this shows that Kyle's charm is still there and it's what motivating him to fight Latnok. I don't know if that makes sense...

Oh by the way, may I ask what are you're planning for Jessi? Nothing too bad, I hope... :)

Actually something good. They make a good team (not a romantic one) but a working one. So have a plan where they work together "saving" lives :)

Been doing it by hand and now I'm busy trying to type, so may not get my page count in just yet.

By the way, do you know if they ever mentioned what College Latnok was based on? Or whatever College Nate went to? I've been trying to find out, but I don't think they ever said it...

I thought it was the University of Washington, it's where Mark is, since he's Steven's T.A. Surprised they didn't have Steven more involved since he's supposed to be working there as a Computer Science teacher. Nicole, I think, also gives speeches on psychology at a university and I thought it was there too.

So both have good reason to be at the college Latnok is based on and funny too how they never heard "rumors" of this organization before. I don't know, maybe it was something else in Season 3 that got overlooked. Your guess is as good as mine :)

I've got about 14 handwritten pages now, will have to type up and see after formatting if it's more or less, but I'll put it in my meter thing just so it will look good ;)

Wow, the episode I'm working on is just flowing. I think I have three more scenes to go and then it's on to the next episode! Won't know if it's enough pages in this episode until I'm done typing it in the computer.

I've been doing so much work this month, I'm surprised my brain hasn't melted... Come May, I'm taking a break. From everything. :D

Also, Kyle has decided it is time to tell Amanda the truth about everything, after she is shot by Cassidy. (And survives, clearly :D) but I think my well of imagination is running out... I'm scared I wont be able to figure out a way to wrap things up... Oh but I'm having Josh going to visit Andi for two weeks :)
And I'm really having fun writing the character of Grace. I have no restrictions whatsoever :)

I hope my sleep deprived, over caffeinated ramblings make sense....
