Anyone wanna just write out their soundtracks?

For anyone who doesn't wanna deal with the whole 'swapping' thing...how about we just list what songs we would have for our soundtrack here?

i.e.

1. Forever Yours-Sunrise Avenue
2. Missing- Evanescence

etc. etc.

I'll do it as soon as I, uhm, figure it out. lol

I'm listening to the new Radiohead cd "In Rainbows." It's got good mellow vibes to foster a creative environment, I think.

RE: Anyone wanna just write out their soundtracks?

I've got a part of mine done:

“Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood” – Nina Simone (Opening Titles)
“You May Be Right” – Hussalonia (a Billy Joel cover)
“You Are What You Love” – Jenny Lewis With the Watson Twins (a theme of sorts)
"In the Sun” – Joseph Arthur (another theme of sorts)
“Glittering Blackness” – Explosions in the Sky (my favorite writing band)
"Maps” – Yeah Yeah Yeahs (love theme, after a fashion, since there's not a real romance in the story, but more a...well, it's difficult to explain. Suffice it to say, there's no romance, but there is love.)
“Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood” – Santa Esmerelda (End Credits)

RE: Anyone wanna just write out their soundtracks?

i have a 35-track long list of songs i am going to be writing with. i keep it long so i don't stop writing til it's done. (it's a full two hours) But in that list, there's always a few that really jump out as fitting PERFECTLY. so far:

The Artist - The Hush Sound
Colourful Language - You Me and Everyone We Know
Speak Slow - Tegan and Sara
She Had The World - Panic At The Disco

probably i'll add to this as i go on.

"Is there a 'Special' sticker next to my name on your chart?" - Amanda Burke (2007, Amanda) "Anyone who says you can't control what people think is just f*ing lazy." - Tommy Anders (2008, Everywhere)

RE: Anyone wanna just write out their soundtracks?

I'm doing a radio script with occasional bouts of music in between news segments. (My script is comedy). So far all those pieces are instrumental...

Going to Another Place by Manheim Steamroller
The 19A by Nightnoise
Welcoming by Michael Manring
Mendham by David Tolk

I'm certain I'll end up with more by the end of April. "Going to Another Place" is kind of the 'theme song' of the script, though; that's the intro to We Weren't Expecting That, which is Ali and Jon's segment of the show.

RE: Anyone wanna just write out their soundtracks?

Gotta hand it to YouTube. If it wasn't for all the AMVs, I'd have a tough time coming up with songs for the soundtrack. I kept it limited to 12 songs, all from different bands. Listed mostly in order.

Limp Bizkit - Eat You Alive
Miley Cyrus - See You Again
Flyleaf - Breathe Today
Vertical Horizon - I'm Still Here
Evans Blue - Over
Apocalyptica - I Don't Care
Breaking Benjamin - Diary of Jane
Nick Lachey - What's Left of Me
Switchfoot - Dare You To Move
Ana Johnsson - Coming Out Strong
Lifehouse - Blind
Skillet - Comatose

That was hard. The last half of the story has the most songs, meaning that there are more songs for Kane than Kimi (And she's the main character!), and it was a pain to find a song for both couples. Phew.

It's possible that I will even write to some of these songs. Not all of them at once (I only listen to five songs on the playlist at a time), and there will probably be other songs being included as well. Anything with a good beat.

I have a few. :)

hellogoodbye ~ I Just Think That She's The Best (Funny story! I was having the worst time finding an opening song because nothing fit, and then I heard the first three minutes of this song on YouTube, found the full version elsewhere, and it fits PER-FECT-LY.)

FM Static ~ The Notion

Relient K ~ Must Have Done Something Right

Sarah McLachlan ~ The Rainbow Connection

It will grow... ^-^

RE: Anyone wanna just write out their soundtracks?

Some of these are very obscure; I have Rhapsody so I can search gazillions of tracks. This used up time and energy before starting, so I really enjoyed it. Stayed up way too late.

What I wanted and couldn't find were mellow jazz improvisations on the melody of Taps and old hymns.

In order as needed for the plot ...

Taps (for Maynard) by Walter White (Opening section)
God Knows How Much We Can Bear by Penny Lang
We are the Boat (Somos el barco) by Penny Lang
Hear Me Lord by Bonnie Raitt
I Will by Tuck & Patti
That's The Way God Planned It by Billy Preston
Be Still My Soul by Dorothy Collins
Going Home by Aaron Neville
Wedding Song (There Is Love) by Noel Paul Stookey
Soon My Work Will All Be Done by Dave Van Ronk
It Is Well with My Soul by Myrrh
Taps With Orchestration by United States Marine Band

(Credits roll)
Oh, Happy Day by Quincy Jones
Taps by The O'Neill Brothers

RE: Anyone wanna just write out their soundtracks?

I just made my soundtrack last night! Excited that I get to share! I'm hoping it will grow in the coming month.

My heart will go on - Celine Dion (I know, I know. I was mildly horrified when I realized it was a perfect fit!)
A Neverending Dream - Cascada
Everything - Lighthouse
Mad World - Gary Jules
This Side - Nickel Creek

Mood Songs - Lyrics don't work perfectly (or at all) but the feel is great
Whisper - Evanesence (Basic anything my them or...)
What I've Done - Linkin Park (...Them)
A song of Storm and fire
Glittering Clouds - Imogen Heap

Then I have a whole bunch of songs that I just have on the playlist because I like them. And I can write to them.

'08 "Untitled" - Won! '09 "Cold Winds" - Here's to hoping (despite my term papers)

Mine's kind of all over the place right now and is heavy on The Killers...

Hey Jane – The Pink Spiders (This is kind of the theme song. It's what inspired my script)
Spaceman – The Killers
Why Do I Keep Counting? – The Killers
Seventeen Candles – The Pink Spiders
Tiffany Blews – Fall Out Boy
Get Out Alive – Three Days Grace
Bones – The Killers
This River is Wild – The Killers
Walk in the Sun – McFly
Night Is Alive – Innerpartysystem
Topeka – Ludo
Knights of Cydonia - Muse

It'll probably grow to astronomical proportions by the end of the month, haha.

I'm pretty sure my soundtrack is just the last three Papa Roach albums. xD I swear all of the songs could have been written by my MC.

Notable songs:
"Hollywood Whore"
"Be Free"
"Scars"
"Days of War"
"The Addict"
"My Heart Is A Fist"
etc.

Wow... everyone's is so... varied.
Lol, mine's just two Spanish bands - awesome, seeing as I don't spend time trying to sing along to the lyrics (even though I used to be able to speak Spanish semi-fluently) and it helps me get into the feel of my script (which is set in Mexico).

Zoé and Jumbo - but a lot of Zoé's stuff is being taken off of Imeem. :(

Not in any order but...

When It Rains - Paramore
Get Out Alive - Three Days Grace
All About Us - T.a.t.u
Shadow of the Day - Linkin Park

Those are for just the story. Some individual ones are:

Fake It - Seether (female MC)
Over & Over - Three Days Grace - also, Loves Me Not - T.a.t.u(female MC)
Crushcrushcrush - Paramore (other female MC xD)

And that's all I've got so far. Not a very upbeat story, mine isn't. Actually, it's pretty tragic, and lots of love going nowhere in no hurry. I really pity my characters. They suffer greatly. Ah, such is life.

On the Playlist:
Blame it on the Weatherman - Bwitched
Don't tell me Goodbye - Suzie McNeil
Broken and Beautiful - Suzie McNeil
Bunch of Blue October
Some Taylor Swift

and of course the little song thats going 'if you're posting in the forums you're not writing a script' ... thought I deleted that one a few times.

So this is the preliminary soundtrack I created with songs related to my script. I put them in an order where the lyrics or tone of the song fit with the scene progression. I listen when I write and when I'm not so that I'm still thinking about the script. See if you can guess what my script is about.

(Wish I Could Fly Like) Superman - The Kinks
Superman - R.E.M.
I'm no Superman - Lazlo Bane
Crank That - Soulja Boy Tell'em
Sunshine Superman - Donovan
Main Title from "Superman" - John Williams
Kryptonite - 3 Doors Down
Superman - Five for Fighting
Save Me - Remy Zero
Superman - Mims

Still adding and tweaking and stuff like that. If you've got any good Superman related songs let me know.

To write out all the soundtracks you need a very long time. Lots of great songs free listen on a single site. It is like albom Evanescence - The Open Door If something like it, then you can download from the high quality.
