2 Scripts

Anyone else having so much trouble deciding between two ideas that they're going to attempt to write 2 scripts in April?
I honestly can't decide which of my two ideas to try, so I've decided to effectively give up every second of the two weeks of Easter holidays and write. D:
200 pages will be a challenge, is it possible? XD

RE: 2 Scripts

It's definitely possible. A screenplay averages about 20,000 - 25,000 words, so you'd really just be doing about the same as NanoWrimo.

RE: 2 Scripts

In the same boat, except I've got four or five ideas (2 of which are fleshed out enough to pick as this years' Script Frenzy). I'm not going to do two scripts unless I'm inspired to.

This struggle happened last year too, but when April 1st arrived my resulting SF script was NOT any of the ideas/outlines I'd been agonizing over.

Thinking too hard and stressing isn't the way to go, so I'm relaxing for the next six days and whatever I start with on April 1st I'll use.

I wish you the best and hey cool if you can get both done. :)

RE: 2 Scripts addendum

Hey if you can write 2 in April, write on ;)

That can be done as I finished my SF in 8 days last year. I'm giving up on the stressing. Now I understand why writing is so hard, the worry/stress is a huge part of it.

RE: 2 Scripts

If I can knock out my first screenplay quickly, I'm going to give it a shot. I have a couple of ideas percolating.

RE: 2 Scripts

Nice to see I'm not the only one trying to write multiple screenplays in the month :P
Most of my writing will probably be done in the holidays, I'll be able to knock out 15-20 pages a day then if I really put my mind to it, so hopefully I'll be able to get most of my scripts done before the end of the month, although I'll still have parts to finish off I think (kinda like NaNo, but with less phail).

RE: 2 Scripts

Oh gosh, I didn't know so many people had the same mindset! I actually have three ideas, with two actually having been in my head for a while. I'm running pretty strong with my main story but I know I'm going to have my days where I'm not going to want to touch it so that's when I'll pick up the other one.

I'm just WAY too ADD to focus whole-heartedly on one idea. :P Hopefully I'll be able to finish at least one of them. This is a big jump for me, especially since I've written 40 pages for a story at most.

But you know what? I'm going for it regardless! This is a year of change!

RE: 2 Scripts

Depending how quickly I finish the one I want to work on, I might attempt a second as well.

RE: 2 Scripts

I am adapting a novel I wrote for JanNO but am not sure if it will make 100 page son it's own. So I have some other ideas for shorter works that I can work on to get up to the 100 page mark.

RE: 2 Scripts

Gah, another idea just popped into my head. A sequel to the script I plan on writing first. >.>
Was going to leave it for next year but I think I may start on it this year. Now in need of a name for it, if anyone can give me a hand - if it helps at all, the basic summary of the plot is that my MC has been living in another world for four years, but finally gets a chance to go home, but her world has been ripped apart by an evil guy she thought she defeated. The first script is called "Guardian", so I'm looking for something fairly short that doesn't sound lame. All suggestions/help appreciated :]

RE: 2 Scripts

I'm adapting my '07 NaNo novel Bad Company not once, but twice! Once for the graphic novel, once for the movie. Not because I can't decide, but because I write scripts so fast: 171 pages of Spanner last year despite not just procrastination but also a MS Word script template that got so slow at times it was as if it was trying to make me lose Screnzy. Now that I have Celtx, I'll write even faster, perhaps fast enough that I'll even start that second screenplay I'm planning, and maybe even start rewriting last year's manga script...

RE: 2 Scripts

I'm doing more than one. My latest idea is actually a tragedy, with a smidge of romance, based on truth but taken in a very fictional way. I'm not sure if I can pull it off, and I'm not sure if it'd be screenplay or stageplay. I'll probably write it as a screenplay, but a stageplay would be AWESOME!
My other idea is most definitely a screenplay.

RE: 2 Scripts

I really want to get to 200 pages and I don't think the idea for my first will take me that far so I'm probably going to end up writing more than one. I have 10 days off school for Easter + 2 other weekends so half the month I won't be at school which means I'll be able to write quite a bit hopefully :)
Last NaNo I finished 2 first drafts of different novels and started a third, so I should be able to do more than one for Screnzy :)
Now I just need to think of another idea :P I'm sure ideas will start popping up throughout the month though :)

RE: 2 Scripts

Possibly two or three, if it doesn't reach a hundred pages. Maybe I'll end up using all seven of my ideas. Most of them are shorts, really.

RE: 2 Scripts

You know, I'm seriously contemplating attempting two scripts. The adaptation I've been quietly fantasizing about writing for three years has just been given the heave-ho in favor of a brief glimpse of a shiny new idea. But writing them both would silence my guilt and let me write based on my mood. This is brilliant, I think. (Well, until mid-April, when I've pulled out all my hair for a creative endeavor...)

Good luck to everyone else writing 2+ scripts!

RE: 2 Scripts

You can combine it to one file then! I think it's better than you make double account.. I just think the same.. How about one script starting from the front. And the other script starting from the back. Then it'll be "first script"-plot-ending- new page of title "second script" - plot - ending. :D That's what I mean. :)

At least, if we couldn't reach 200 pages, it'll be easier to finish 100 pages (coz they are 2 different scripts!) :D

Less than 2 hours until Script Frenzy for me, and I decided on what I want my second script to be. I'm making it my goal to write 2 scripts instead of one.

I just finished writing my spec yesterday. Now, I'm working on my screenplay. I don't know if I'll finish it, but my goal is to get a hundred pages.

RE: 2 Scripts

Remember I said I would write 2 scripts? Turns out I wrote none. When you have to move, you pack up your computer and move. So I wrote just the beginning and end of my movie adaptation, and stopped there with just 2 days to go. The End.
