My Script Metamorphosized Into a Comedy

So, my script recently got turned into a kind of bizarre comedy. It's still the basic plot line, but lots of random, stupid humor in it, and not as much meaning or subtle plotting. So, yeah. Has anyone had this happen to them before, and did you try to get it back on track or just go with it? With just 6 days til fade-in, I'm kind of nervous.

RE: My Script Metamorphosized Into a Comedy

Something similar happened to me, I was going to do quite a serious script exploring ideas about death, and I found that I was thinking of tons of humorous angles that could be taken, I decided just to go where it takes me.

This is my first Script Frenzy, but I tried (and failed) the '08 NaNoWriMo, and my advice would be just to write it, even if it stops being a comedy halfway through, just keep writing.

RE: My Script Metamorphosized Into a Comedy

The same thing sort of happened with mine. I came up with the idea thinking it would be kind of serious. But I realized later that depending how I wrote it, it could also be a dark comedy. But I haven't decided which way to take it yet. I figure I'll start writing it and go whichever direction seems more natural.

2009- Will win with Yet Untitled 2008- Won with A Pale Moon in a Sunny Sky 2007- Lost with The Moonlighter 2006- Lost with Untitled 2005- Lost with Untitled So I lose a lot, I'm still damned proud

RE: My Script Metamorphosized Into a Comedy

That's mine this year. It was supposed to be about the mob and now it's suddenly some crazy elements and mostly just ridiculous. I'm totally running with it. I don't care.
