Superpowers?

So I'm writing a script now where most of the characters have supernatural abilities, and I'm a little stuck for interesting things to give them... here's what I've got so far:

healing
fire
persuasion
super learning/memory
supplementary powers (his power is that everyone else's powers are better when he's around... sucks to be him!)
super defenses (basically, whenever threatened, his body will react to protect him from the threat)

There are about 30 people with abilities around, but I don't actually need to figure out all of them -- just a handful. There are still three or four main characters who don't have powers, and of them only one isn't supposed to have discovered his yet. So! Thoughts?

RE: Superpowers?

Well, there's always being clairvoyant (seeing the future). And there's seeing spirits. Time traveling is always an option. Controlling the elements are always fun to do to!

Another thing you could do is enhancing the five senses.

You know, I'm just going to give ya a list because I'm sooo distracted right now. LOL!

*clairvoyant
*time travel
*shape shifting
*controlling one of the elements
*super smell (or another sense)
*flying
*super strength, speed, etc
*immortality
*killing people by touch
*electricity control

Hope that helps!

RE: Superpowers?

I want to avoid time travel, and the super-defenses character basically has immortality built in, but the others are all good, thanks! I think clairvoyancy might definitely make an appearance somewhere down the line... and shapeshifting might be fun for the town leader, who really needs a power. A really nice guy, sometimes a werewolf! Vote for him!

RE: Superpowers?

I'm having a tiny bit of trouble on this subject for my reincarnated gods script... but here are some of my ideas:

-Able to throw objects without touching them (not sure what that is called)
-Mind reading
-Leeching (think vampires, but without the whole 'undead' and 'need it to live' part)
-Water powers (able to use water as a weapon)

That is all I got for now, hope it helps!

RE: Superpowers?

Here are some, some of which I'm using, but feel free. . .

- Fire Elemental control
- Crazy martial arts (think stuff like Matrix Bullet-time)
- Someone who's a living recorder (she remembers everything she sees and hears, perfectly)
- perfect voice mimicry
- the ability to tap into an manipulate wireless networks just by thought
- telepathy (don't remember if that's been mentioned)
- teleportation
- ability to summon 'otherworldly creatures'
- super jumping
- flight
- invisibility
- ability to walk through walls
- ability to completely alter appearance
- super intelligence

That's just what I've got so far. . .

RE: Superpowers?

Okay, some more I sort of:
Muscle mimic – being able to learn new skills by just watching someone (e.g. watch the Olympic gymnastics on tv then being able to do all the moves)
Cryokinesis – Pyrokinesis (producing fire) but the ice version
Technopath – operate technology with the mind (hacking into computers etc)
Electrokinesis – Producing electricity with the mind and electricity manipulation.
Hightened senses – Self explainatory
Omnilingual – Can speak all languages fluently (sometimes stretches to being able to communicate with animals)
Breathe underwater – Self explainatory
Instant cellular regeneration – healing instantly (often can mean the person does not age)
Movement manipulation – able to manipulate the movement of others (stop them from speaking/moving. Make them point a gun to their head etc.)
Human lie detector – Can tell when someone is lying about something
Power absorption – Absorbing others powers when close to them/ by killing them/by thinking about them etc.
Controlling the weather – produce storms etc.
See in the dark??? =P
Mediumship - Talking to ghosts
Necromacy - Bringing people back from the dead (that one might be spelt wrong).

There some I have just thought of. Might be some repeats.
Also, I know the proper names for most things, such as Phasing (walking through solid objects, e.g. walls). Pyrokinesis (fire manipulation) cryokinesis (ice manipulation). Telepathy, telekinesis, electrokinesis and several others =]

RE: Superpowers?

WOW! Some amazing lists here...I need to jumpstart a couple of my characters with a few of these. Right off the top of my head...

Someone who can manipulate color (like in warping reality, or thinking you're in a perpetual dream because everything looks neon pink, etc)

The ability to control plants.

Ability to control insects

The ability to change themselves into a useful element, (like a type of metal) and yet still not change/lose size of themselves. Like you need metal to make a sword or something, they can morph an arm and shave off enough for the item, then reformulate...

Ability to poison...practically everything he/she touches, and is immune to all poisons.

String-master. Someone who uses string as thier visual medium through which to conduct/use thier power.

RE: Superpowers?

There's always your basic elemental control powers, some of which have been mentioned:

Aerokinesis: Air control
Cryokinesis: Ice "
Hydrokinesis: Water "
Terrakinesis/Geokinesis: Earth "
Pyrokinesis: Fire "

And then:
Clairvoyance: To see future or past events, or present events that are elsewhere
Clairescence/Clairalience: To smell scents/odours associated with a person or place even when the source of the smell is not nearby.
Clairaudio: To hear conversations of spirits/deceased
Clairsentience: To be able to sense the feelings of spirits
Clairsavorance: The ability to taste substances associated with persons when they were alive.
Auramancy: Being able to view auras
Purposeful lucid dreaming: Purposefully having a dream that you know is a dream, and communicating with spirits/other people

...Got a bit carried away.
