Goretastic Macabre - The digustingly gross thread |
Considering this is partly a horror forum, I thought we could use one of these threads to discuss whatever nasty/horrific scenes we're working on, or to bounce ideas off eachother as to what is most terrifying.
Zombies, vampires, werewolves, aliens, serial killers, and flesh-eating viruses all welcome.

RE: Goretastic Macabre - The digustingly gross thread |
I have a plan of a detailed scene of Jack the Ripper exploring his victim's insides, actually, about one fifth of the thing is going to be entirely centricc to him, so make that one fifth of the thing mostly made of blood and guts, then add what the other characters (the -mostly- good guys are almost as bad as he is!) get up to, and i think that this is going to be a bit more of a gore-fest than I had first expected... yay!

Sounds good! I always loved Jack the Ripper films.
The script I'm working on this year is a vampire western. I'm outling up to a point now where the MC (also a vampire, but one that doesn't harm humans if he can help it) is coming up to his town, where a outlaw gang of vampires have slaughtered everyone.
So far, I'm just thinking up the placements of all the gang members. One of them is grinding up pits of people to feed his undead horse, and another is inside the saloon, squeezing people's heads into shotglasses.

I have already had a beheading, and a woman through a windshield of a car. Coming up is a multiple murder, with a sword. I haven't worked out the choreograph of the scene, but four people have to die. Should be gruesome.

Leapetra, I bow to your superior gruesomeness. I've got a murder and a fair number of bloody ghost-corpses, a scene planned involving a shower and lots of razor blades, but--ick. Clearly I need to work on my scare/gross out factor.

While not exactly gory, in one scene, some fuzzy little white bunnies are drowned. I figure it would be more compelling than a straight up bloodbath. More than say, bunnies being eviscerated or imploding.
Gore-fests can so easily stray into the realm of the sickening, unnecessary and inadvertently farcical. It's a fine line.

Giving my main character, a good guy, some scenes where he can kill people and some monsters with his hands,
Actually a question for anyone aswell, what'd happen if you punch someone really f###ing hard directly into the throat?
Theirs some stuff for him to do besides that, push his thumbs into their eyes, push the bone in their nose up through the head, repeated knees into their face, I still have some things to figure out for him though.

Hah, then I fit right in. Let's see.... Diana Vertuccio is a perfectly innocent fifteen year old girl, kept chained in her room by her father. Then, she realizes that her father Miloh is a mass murderer by contract. Diana escapes, and becomes one herself, working for the company that has monopolized the world.
First few deaths: normal slasher death, nothing to exciting. Except that it's upside down. You know, Diana wearing some guy's intestine like a scarf in a moment of deranged euphoria. The normal. Then, though, Diana ripping the spinal cord out of a man's throat- which she just cut. My personal favorite. An innocent young girl. What a pity. Kind of. Not really.
Oh, and, I'm fourteen. Hah. Whoops.

irishcelt... if you punch someone hard in the throat you can crush their windpipe leaving them unable to breath. If the character has some kind of super human strength and punches them REALLY hard he could break their neck as well. There is also the possibility that if he hits them on the side of the neck he could rupture the carotid artery and they could bleed to death.
FYI... no matter how hard you punch someone in the nose, regardless of the angle, you can not push the bone into the brain. It's impossible from a medical standpoint. However, this is your screenplay and your world so anything you want to happen can, just giving you the real world version.

RE: Goretastic Macabre - The digustingly gross thread |
My style usually isn't gory, but gore comes up.
In this script, my MC has his trachea crushed and an alien uses a metal rod to jam some conduit sheathing down his windpipe to act as a breathing tube.
Later, when the tube gets too clogged to work, the MC is in the middle of staring someone down and he pulls the tube out and gets ick on the guy he's staring down.

RE: Goretastic Macabre - The digustingly gross thread |
Update on the gore. The most interesting death. Which was getting hard to keep the deaths interesting, since the main weapon used was a heavy cavalry saber. Not much variety. But this one I am proud of.
The supernatural killer jumps on the roof of a police car. Then he leaps again, and comes down, forced the blade of the sword downwards, Through one of the cops. A police kabob, if you will. But now the sword is stuck. The killer has to rip the sword out of the cops body. So impalement and dismemberment in a few seconds.

RE: Goretastic Macabre - The digustingly gross thread |
Let's see... My death count is currently at ten, with more to come, but I don't get too graphic on most of them. The only one I really went into any detail on was the opening kill.
My killer shot his victim in the kneecap to make it difficult to run away, then started chopping off appendages (starting with the small ones) while he was still alive and feeding them to his pet shark. I imagine the victim passes from either the blood loss or pain eventually, but he does have to watch for a while before that happens.
The rest of the kills aren't gross as much as they are incredibly painful and/or just plain terrible ways to die. (Although I guess finding the college student who was cooked alive in the clothes dryer would rank a few points on the 'ick' scale.)
