100 pages - Finishing line! |
I didn't find a thread like this, so I decided to make them. ;)
Post here when you want to share your winning triumph!
(We have cookies, cocoa, cranberries and all other things beginning with c. You'll need them once you're done.)
I WILL finish in three days, I WILL!
(And I won't fail that physics test on tuesday, either.)
Edit: I did it! (Although I did poison myself once.)

Crazy! Congrats! I've decided to slow down my initial torrid pace (although nowhere as fast as yours).

In retrospect, slowing down probably would've been a good idea CX But did I do it? No. My impulse control is non-existant.

Epic congrats! How did you sit still to write that much in two days? I can do about 15 pages in a couple of hours without going stir-crazy..but...just wow! Impressive!

RE: 100 pages - Finishing line! |
Grinbunny, are you going to dispute anyone who actually gets some decent work done? I've written a hundred pages in under a day before. It's called a CMP exit exam, and they only give you twelve hours to do it.
Just because you didn't doesn't mean she didn't or no one can. We don't tolerate accusations in NaNo, and I'll be damned if we tolerate them in Screnzy.
And the font default is 10pt Courier New. One sentence per page is not going to fly here. Make a decent effort or don't, but don't bitch or accuse because someone else works faster than you.
I'm ashamed of you. Go write or don't, but if I hear you accusing anyone else's "hard to believe" wordcount of being a cheat, I'm reporting you to Dragonchilde.
And ironically, your "how huge can I make the font" question is a method of cheating in itself, so you have no room to point fingers.

No need to get touchy. I wasn't accusing anyone. If you can do that then congrats. Cheeting here only cheets yourself and that's none of my business. thanx for answering my question.

Anyone more than half way done already, I'm jealous.
I want to be finished by Saturday. I'm totally going to write another script after.
Oh! Just thought of something! Have to go write it while I'm thinking of it!

RE: 100 pages - Finishing line! |
I finished in two days total, and I wrote over 20000 words - so no text cheating here ;) If anyone wants to see, I've published the whole shebang on my blog. Also, I don't have crazy amounts of free time, I managed to clear thirteen hours in two days, some of which were on the bus and in classes and such.
Right now writing another one is the last thing on my mind, but ask me in a week when I've been on holiday for too long and I might try to do it in ONE day.
Anyway, welcome after, folks! I'll be cheering you on!
I WILL finish in three days, I WILL!

Congratulations and a cookie to you, Invi! May you continue to be a productive writer.
One day I might be able to write a script about half that speed. For now, I'll try to just get a completed script in the timeframe ;)

RE: 100 pages - Finishing line! |
Me, I'm doing some preparation before I throw myself into the script speed writing. First, replot my novel. Second, throw the index cards around. Third, fire up Celtx. It'll probably be a few more days yet before I start, but I'm going to bet myself that I'll have the movie adaptation of Bad Company done, maybe up to 150 pages or so, by next Friday. I might even see if I too can pull off 100 pages in 2 days.

Well done :)
I want to be finished by the 5th (hopefully). I have weekend, so it won't just be the evenings, which I don't have much of anyway due to them being taken over by the evil mastermind that is ICT coursework. :)
And then it's the easter holidays =D
Woo. :)

Congrats, guys!
I'm in complete spite-- I mean, awe of what you've done. I don't doubt you for a second though. 100 pages is about 20,000 words. I've done 12k days before, so 100 pages in two days (or even one, given the motivation) isn't hard to believe.
I just don't have the drive to write that much at the moment.

RE: 100 pages - Finishing line! |
thank you very much for the cookies and cake. As soon as my hands stop shaking from the caffine I'll be able to enjoy them. It's been a short but very hectic two days. My script weighs in at 22,016 words. I still have about twnety pages to go until I can call it complete. Going to try for that tonight. Already did fifteen pages today in about an hour and a half.
I'm cheering on the rest of ya. You can do it!
