Mutating the hero

My script for this year is a bit... bizarre. It's set in a world where, due to the influence of a native chemical, people mutate. A lot. Especially the hero, who gets no less than three different opportunities to mutate, and several options as to how he changes.

The problem is, I'm running a bit short on ideas. I've come up with five different options so far, and I need at least four more - more than that, if I can swing it. I can use anything from weird powers to full-body transformations, so almost any suggestions would be appreciated (aside from inflation, inanimate transformation, and/or transgender).

RE: Mutating the hero

I guess it depends on whether he can control the mutations or not. You could start with him in his initial "real" body, so that the audience can identify with him, and then slowly have him start to mutate over time. You could also have him mutate every episode, or every other episode (again, it depends on how you want to carry this out) and have him deal with issues that way.

Is it a screenplay or a tv show? It might work better as the latter if you haven't decided yet. To include the fact that it's the plants responsible for the mutations, you could have some people trying to burn the plants, or others trying to harvest them for "scientific" experiments.

It sounds really interesting--and probably highly descriptive depending on the mutations. Oh, and if you need suggestions: can he become magnetic? Maybe he could give off an electrical charge (though that might be cliche)? There's also being part-bug, or part-animal. Or maybe he's charged so that he gets struck by lightning but doesn't die? That would make people wonder. Heck, you could open with that scene and make the audience suspicious---and *is tossing plotbunny to you* you can take that and run with it--unless you don't want it...?

Have fun with it. I look forward to seeing what you come up with and where it goes. (I'm intrigued about reading it too.) Feel free to PM me with a reply and/or your thoughts. Sometimes it helps to bounce ideas off other people. ^_^ Good luck.
