Too Late to Start?

Is it too late to start Screnzy? I want an honest opinion-- I did NaNo last year. I've never written a script, but I do have some ideas. Is it too late to start? Should I even bother?

ASAP response appreciated-- since, I probably need to start, if I'm going to :D

RE: Too Late to Start?

I think if you have enough free time to do, say, five or six pages per day starting Tuesday, April 7, you just might make it. I'd consider how much work and stress would have to go into producing those 5-6 pages every single day.

RE: Too Late to Start?

I don't think it's too late. If you've done NaNo I think you have an idea how much time you need to write a certain amount. Scripts are usually less words and the pages add up quickly if you have lots of dialogue. (Which is what's happening to my script - being pages of MC ranting...)

I'd start and see how much time it takes to write 5 or 10 pages, and decide if you have enough time this month to finish by the end of April. Or you can start anyway, and take your time and not technically do Screnzy but write a script anyway :)

RE: Too Late to Start?

Bwaha, I should hope not. I'm just starting today too. Earlier in the day I just stopped and went, "Oh my gosh it's April!" I'd been planning to do this for months and then I managed to forget about it.

But look, I got one page done! *Snorts*

RE: Too Late to Start?

Considering there are people already finished and we've still got three weeks to go, I'd say you've got plenty of time still to start.

RE: Too Late to Start?

Haha, I hope not. I just started myself and plan on knocking out at LEAST ten pages before I call it a day.

Though, in my case I have a plot that's been nagging at me for a while, so I don't think it'll be too hard to get it down.

RE: Too Late to Start?

Oh, definitely not! Although if it's an idea you're not very excited about, there could be difficulties (I started over twice and I'm not sure if I won't again...D: ). But really, you should Go For It~ Carpe noctem and all that, aha.

RE: Too Late to Start?

Absolutely not.

While my eyes come first and I vowed I wouldn't be doing SF this year, I may just give it a go within the next week. One story keeps coming back to haunt me, demanding I get it down.

To answer your question: No it isn't too late. I completed my first Script Frenzy last year in 8 days.

Good luck.

RE: Too Late to Start?

Well I've, sort of, just started - it's an idea I've been kicking around for a year and finally decided I'd use SF to give me the deadline to finish it. Currently need 5.6 pages per day to finish.

I shall hold my hand up and say that I did have the first 12 pages written before SF (I know, naughty) but I'm starting halfway through the month so I think that more than balances out.

Should be okay, though my schedule is a bit hellish.

I've done the last two Frenzies and won both times, and did NaNoWriMo once, and won that too.

Good luck to us all.

RE: Too Late to Start?

pffft I just started yesterday at noon. I'm semi cheating and doing a webcomic script that I've been wanting to start for ages, and I have no intention to finish on time. But I'm really happy with what I have right now (the 4 pages of it), and I'd like to get a good 35 done by the end of the month.

Plus, I turn 18 in 12 days and need a good distraction from being antsy about that.

So what the hell, start whenever you'd like.

week two is not my week. words behind: 5.2k subjects of unplanned subplots: takeout food. the da vinci code. do I hate myself: yes.

92 pages in 3 days? No problem! Not for me! But first, now that I'm finished moving, I need to put my computer system back together...

RE: Too Late to Start?

And then I collapsed on my couch. Turns out it was too late to start. So 15 pages and no script. Next month, I'm taking my time.
