Anyone else behind?

I am way behind (for now) seeing as I've got only 2 pages worth so far. I thought I'd see a thread in here for this but was kinda surprised when I didn't. Either way, I'll be working to boost my page count. Any encouragement is of course appreciated. And if anyone else has fallen behind, then post here and we'll cheer each other on.

RE: Anyone else behind?

Me, I'm behind, and I have no excuse because I have just finished an MA in screenwriting so should know better. Oh well, I will finish the script eventually, just maybe not in April. lol.

RE: Anyone else behind?

I am behind, although I have cut the gap.
My advice is just to try and make sure you always get some done every day, even if it is no more than a couple of lines. Like a shark, if you stop swimming your script will die.
Then, try and find a block of time, somewhere in your schedule, where you know you won't be interrupted and won't be too tired, and just write like a demon during that time.
Last night I was just going to write two short scenes to finish up the first act and the one scene took on a life of its own, stretching out from half a page to about 3. And it was good stuff. So my other piece of advice is if you feel the creative juice flowing, go along for the ride...

RE: Anyone else behind?

*sigh* Me. I haven't devoted enough time to it, and I have been really busy with school and prom is the weekend after Easter, too. But soon I will have much more free time, which will mean I can write. I have also hit a few blocks in my script, too, which makes it really hard to keep going. But I must not be discouraged!

I am behind as well. Still, I think I'm doing quite well, considering I've only started today.

RE: Anyone else behind?

I'm also behind (0 pages). I've been trying to talk myself into trying this out ever since I started doing NaNoWriMo (since 2007). I finally talked myself into it, but I didn't even login until April 6th and I... haven't even started yet, but I have a four day weekend off of college coming up as of the very minute I got home today and will be starting on my script tonight if I can finally decide what I'm actually going to be writing about. Having too many ideas is only ever good when your doing NaNo...

RE: Anyone else behind?

I was really behind (only 4 pages) until yesterday. Yesterday I got a lot of writing done in the evening and brought my page count up to 7. For some reason updating my page count on my writers profile made me feel so much more motivated. I think it's because I like looking at the meter underneath my name. It also helps to look at the forums.

I had a short day at work today and I managed to do a lot of writing this afternoon, bringing my page count to 21, only 3 pages behind schedule.

Right now however, my attention span has gone MIA, so I think I'm gonna take a breather for awhile. I think that it's important to take a break from the computer to avoid losing your focus completely.

And I saw that someone else said it, and they are so right... I think that as long as you try to keep up with writing something. Some days are going to be more productive than others no matter what you do.

3 pages behind. It's my fault for getting into Newgrounds and a Sonic forum a few weeks before this. But it helps to listen to your favorite music, and don't push yourself too much if you can't write anymore.

RE: Anyone else behind?

I decided to change my idea of the script a couple of days ago. (3rd idea now that I have started.) So, yeah, I'm behind, but plan to get to page 40 before bed on Sunday! (Like that's really going to happen.)

I'm sure you're page count will rise. It may be slow at first, but wait until you get to the parts that you want to know what happens and have all power to control what actually happens! Anyway, just roll with it, and you'll get pretty darn close to finishing it (or finishing the script!)

RE: Anyone else behind?

i've been stuck on page 9 for quite a while now. after the initial setup, i'm not let to fill out the story until the action comes...only i don't exactly know how that should happen, and it's just kind of a boring period. at least that's how i justify it. i'm failing and it's frustrating. i should be in the 30s now. argh :(

RE: Anyone else behind?

I am. I'm on Spring Break but somehow I can't seem to focus long enough to get some pages written. But when am focused I have writer's block. I'm only at 10 pages. I wanna finish the competition but I think that its just going to end up a race between me and my friend who is only at 10 pages also. Then plus now my mom is working some late hours so I would stay up by myself in the peace and quiet and just write because nobody is going to call me at 1:00am but then shortly later I'm sleepy.
Can we catch up? How can I cure writer's block? WILL MY PHONE STOP RINGING? Does anybody know?
If you're behind add me plz

RE: Anyone else behind?

I'm a bit behind, but not too badly. I'm at the point where the action is about to really pick up, so I expect things to move along. I did take the time to verify my page count today, which was exciting. The verification put me at 25 pages rather than 24, as I had reported. So... 1/4 of the way done! We have people on spring break (2 teachers in the family) the last two weeks of April, so I'll have help around the house and hopefully have more time to devote to writing. :)

I'm waaay behind. I should have like . . . 38 pages, but I only have 25. Eik.

EDIT: Okay - so it feels like I'm 'waaay' behind, but in reality I'm not that behind. I'm only in the yellow, not orange or red yet. Haha. I just need to suck it up and write.

I am. Not terribly-but a little. I want to be at 50 pages by the end of next week, but....I'm not sure I'll get there. I had a small plot problem-which, hopefully, is cleared up now-but....I don't know if it'll really happen.

I'm hugely behind! I didn't plan on getting a horrible cold for five days, and then getting buried under a mound of make up work that leaves me too tired to write my script.
I still plan on catching up and finishing, though.

Uhh, shoot. ^_^;; I'm so behind. I was at musical rehearsal till 10 on Monday, had to write a paper that night, rehearsal even later on Tuesday, and yesterday, I just... fell asleep. XD;; Hopefully I'll be caught up by tomorrow. Yay for Easter Break!

And guys, no matter how far behind you are, don't give up. There will be plot issues, you might blank out sometimes. But even if all the time you have is five minutes or so, just sit down and write. You don't even have to look at it again until May. Good luck! =)

Me. *points to my measley 6 pages*

It's not even really 6, my counter just says it is...<.< I was just kinda...stuck. I think I'm over most of it though. My graph on the stats page is depressing, though. It looks to much like my failed NaNos' graphs...D:

Yep, yep. I am behind. I like my script, but I keep getting stuck. I have short bursts of creativity that flow nicely and then. . .nothing. ~sigh~ I'm not giving up though. I refuse to let it defeat me! Mwahahahahah

I'm about 20 pages behind for no reason apart from the fact that I needed to get away from my character and story for a while. I have 14 pages of notes including several pages with scene examples, and I still have no idea what to write.

RE: Anyone else behind?

strangely enough, this cheers me a bit. We can do this guys! I'm going to be gone most of this week, so I'll have to see how dedicated I can be with just one notebook and a myriad of distractions. But then again, what felt like just a little bit jotted down, ended up quickly racking up to a couple of pages already, so maybe it won't be so bad.

In case it helps anyone else, I'm going for the random approach. I can put the scenes in order later, but I'm writing them now as I come up with them. It sounds crazy, but it's actually working pretty well. After all, isn't sewing the scenes together cohesively, just editing for a script? And editing belongs firmly in the month after a crazy endeavor like this, or at least that's what I believe. Anyways, it's working for me.

I'm 19.33 pages behind. *sigh* I wrote eleven pages yesterday, but I don't know how I'm ever going to catch up. I'm hoping to push on through to page thirty or so, because then the time machine arrives and I can have some fun.

When in doubt, pick your friends and use them for plot devices.
