Unfortunate Side Effects

Everyone gets songs stuck in their head, yes? And it only makes sense that songs relevant to my script are stuck in my head at the moment.

Somewhat unfortunately, the relevant songs are those sung in the trenches of the First World War. My mind couldn't play the censored lyrics on endless repeat, either - it's fixated on the most obscene versions, which I subsequently find myself humming constantly. At work, while looking after young children, anywhere.

So has ScriptFrenzy caused any unwanted side effects for you?

RE: Unfortunate Side Effects

It's made me irritable around people (more so). When I'm with people and not writing, I get all grumpy.
It's screwed with my sleeping patterns (again, more so). Now I write from, say, 8PM-midnight, mess about on the 'puter until 4AM, watch a movie and crash. Woe, TAFE is back on Monday.
And my hands hurt...

On the upside, it's made me withdrawn enough to get over a certain young lady. :-) *two thumbs up*

RE: Unfortunate Side Effects

Screnzy hasn't, but I ADORE Irish music, not neo-Celtic stuff. I like pub music, shanteys, rebel songs, drinking songs, working songs, war songs, hornpipes, jigs, and reels. I have that same averse side effect. I always burst out in the most inappropriate one at the most awkward time.

The rebel song Kinky Boots is NOT appropriate at the dinner table. Trust me.

RE: Unfortunate Side Effects

Unfortunate effects? Oh yeah.

My hundred pages are done. They've been done for a couple of days. The price I pay? I have eleven neglected poetry journals and two response papers due tomorrow. I still have five journals left to do. Each journal is three to five pages. It's four-thirty in the morning.

Sleep? Yeah, I've never heard of it. Oh well. At least doing Frenzy and NaNo has made me capable of writing extreme amounts in short amounts of time. *sigh*
