A Book of the Dead

I could kind of use some inspiration...or something. You see, I've gotten kind of stuck. My character has been charged with a Book of the Dead. I hadn't really thought ahead to this part yet and I'm not sure about two things:

1) What she'll find inside.

And 2) What she'll do with what she finds in it.

Help is much appreciated. Thanks.

RE: A Book of the Dead

Well... the Ancient Egyptian Book of the Dead was full of magical spells designed to help a soul traverse the underworld after death.

Is that the kind of thing you're looking for?

RE: A Book of the Dead

Sort of. Well, I think I've gotten myself unstuck now, but that's definitely something that I can keep in mind. Thanks, that bit of information may help me later.

RE: A Book of the Dead

Yeah, the Egyptian book of the dead is pretty cool.

Check out this translated version. You can get an idea of what it looks like and the type of symbols and language they used.

RE: A Book of the Dead

Curious about your process: Why would you write a script wherein a major inciting incident is a complete mystery to you?
