For the last two nights, I've discovered upon re-opening my screenplay that the writing from the night before is gone. Needless to say seeing all that creative time and energy go to waste was rather infuriating. So my question is, has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, what did you do/can I do to stop it from happening again?

To avoid any stupid questions or answers:
-YES, I saved my work. The first night it happened I made sure I hit save about 20 times before closing the program.
-This has only happened around the page 50 mark. I had hit over page 50 the first night it happened and when I re-opened the program it cut it back down to 50. Same with last night.

First, I'd be hitting the Celtx forum and posting there. You're going to get much better support there since the developers are frequently there.

Second, did you get a Studios account? There's a bug/feature where Celtx will remember where you saved to last. If you're saving to Studios and then opening from your local computer it would definitely look like you'd be losing that work. It doesn't automatically switch back to saving a local copy after you've saved to Studios.

I'll check the celtx forums. My computer isn't connected to the internet so I can only save it locally.

I've been having this problem too! It's driving me nuts.

I'm having no problems, though my laptop is almost never online, so that could be why. Besides, I always export it as plain text, just in case.

My laptop is also never online, so I don't think that's it.

During my first SF, I had this problem and after 4 or 5 days, just stopped using Celtx and instead worte in Word.

I figured because others were saying how much they loved Celtx that I didn't know how to use Celtx and was screwing up somehow. I think that was correct.

Later when I had time, I went back and learned Celtx, used the tutorial, etc. And I haven't had any problems like that (deleted work) since.

I have no idea if my situation was/is the same as yours or if you truly have some bigger non-human-use problem. But I feel for you. Good luck.

Did you figure out what it was that was causing your writing to go away? Because you'd think saving a document would, you know, save the document...
