Got another one - Scene formatting

The cast is still in the kitchen from an earlier scene while dinner was being cooked. Now they're all sitting around the kitchen table watching a portable TV while they eat.

Do I start a new scene heading? Or label it as:
LATER AT THE KITCHEN TABLE?

Help?

Thanks,
anne/JustWriting - and not getting very far with all these questions!

RE: Got another one - Scene formatting

It's a new scene if the location is different or if the time is different. You should note something like INT. KITCHEN - LATER

At least that's how I was taught!!!

RE: Got another one - Scene formatting

It might also depend on whether it's stage or film. I was just reading MY FAIR LADY script for stage--and there they just have blackout and lights up to show passage of time but kept in the same scene (where Eliza is learning her vowels).

fwiw.
