Picturing the screenplay

I was watching Fargo the other day and I found myself picturing the screenplay was saying, you know? That movie's pretty crazy is anyone hasn't seen it. I highly recommend it. :) Has anyone found themselves doing that as they watch a movie?

RE: Picturing the screenplay

All the time. I also find myself calculating the act brakes, especially if a movie isn't holding my interest.

Also, Fargo is such a great flick.

RE: Picturing the screenplay

ever since I got into writing I do it for every movie.. then I search the internet trying to find the screenplay. I also like to read through the sreenplay while the movie is playing, see what was or wasn't originally there.

Absolutely. If that doesn't happen automatically something's wrong.

RE: Picturing the screenplay

I usually do the oposite, while writing I picture the movie in my head. It helps keep dialogue realistic. I do find myself paying more attention to scenes, dialogue, etc. in movies though.

RE: Picturing the screenplay

Sometimes I can't watch a movie because I'm too busy thinking about how they wrote the script, and picturing the words on the page. Drives me insane, but in a good way.
