The Song for American Idol

Ok. So, I have a character that has really been thorugh a lot. She's young, probably 16 or 17...maybe 15? (would they allow her to try out if she'd be 16 durring the show?) Anyway, she has practically been homeless for a while...so skinny, dirty...what would be a song for her to sing that would be ironic and heartbreaking? Just ironic comming from her, I mean...

Thanks for any help!

RE: The Song for American Idol

"Let it Be" by the Beatles. (A Beatles song had to be suggested, sorry.)

"Bad Day" by Daniel Powter. (Because it sounds like she's had quite a few.)

"Bright Lights" by Matchbox Twenty. (It's kind of about someone like you described, so not really ironic, but it's sad.)

"Times Like These" by Jack Johnson. (I dunno, I'd find it heartbreaking. Especially if she's doing a different version of it, the style doesn't appeal to a lot of people.)

"If Everyone Cared" by Nickelback. (It's a good, sad, general one.)

"Life of Leisure" by Rainer Maria. (Which she didn't have, obviously.)

On ages: "You have to be a legal U.S Citizen or a permanent U.S resident. You also have to be between the ages of 16 and 29. Make sure to bring 2 forms of I.D with you, at least one form must be a photo I.D. If you are under 18 you need to have a parent or legal guardian with you."

Sounds like a great story! Hope this helps.
