Should my god vs. god battles be bloodier?

In my script, I am writing about gods being reincarnated into people in modern times, and these people have the gods take over there bodies. Using their powers the gods fight each other a lot during the script. My only problem is that I was wondering if it should be bloodier? Ya know, arms and legs flying off, huge pools of blood littering the battlefield, the works. I'm already done with my script, so this would be just adding on.

Thanks for any input you give, and for taking time off writing your scripts! I appreciate it! :D

If they are fighting just each other no.
If mere mortals are in involve then go for it.

Hm, okay then :D I will see about adding some more blood and gore - I'll try and keep it PG-13 though ;)

RE: Should my god vs. god battles be bloodier?

I don't think it's necessary to be violent.

I'm not against violence... I just wouldn't watch a violent movie. I have no problem with people who like movies like SAW, but violence really squicks me. Anyone who would watch a movie just for the violence is really not a person worth your time.
It doesn't need to be bloody to be psychologically violent. Psychological violence is more powerful than physical violence. Physical violence grosses out the people who don't like it. As for the people who do like physical violence, when they see a violent movie, all they remember is the violence. You try to talk to them about the plot, and they'll give you a blank stare. But then they'll tell you how awesome they thought the blood was. Like people who say Sweeney Todd would have been better without the singing.
Psychological violence... having the characters see someone get ripped apart, and the audience not seeing it, but seeing the characters reactions (not just their "eew, gross", but the psychological effects of it on people), that has the affect you want.
