help, need inspiration :(

Dear Screnzy Friends,

Please provide some sort of motivation. I am so close, but I've crapped out lately.

I've been working a film festival at a film school for the past week, and I thought that would help inspire me (in that some of the movies would suck, so I can go, "Hey, look, mine is already better than this!"), but it hasn't--I'm too pooped!

I've been writing about musicians and angst, and I love musicians, and angst, but I just can't seem to pull everyone past the "wait, let's have long conversations about everything, first, and let's have a random drug scene thrown in for good measure!" stage.

Help? :(

make something happen that gets all the angst ridden truth seekers really riled up, like an agent calls one of them and offers a gig for lots of cash to backup some bubble gum pop artist, total sell out, now group is upset over betrayal, jealous over the money, wonderful chance for lots of fighting, screaming, throwing things, fights, etc.

Just an example, but well worth 20 pages.

I suggest something completely different. Head over to the winners thread where people are shouting out their 100 page script wins, crossing the threshhold, etc. It's exciting there, and maybe that will add juice to your veins.

add a montage of them practicing/playing. There's a concert scene in there somewhere right? Or one of your main characters can have one of those epiphany type moments where he has to decide if he wants to sell his instrument to support his drug habit.

Thanks, everybody! I used all your ideas (except for the selling the instrument one, which will definitely come once I get to that portion later in the story)and got there! Thank you so, so much! ♥
