Late Beethoven Quartets, Bach Preludes and Fugues, or Mahler Symphonies?

I find that Beethoven's 15th, 14th and 16th Quartets are quite uplifting, and can bring out the inner Aeschylus.

Yes, sometimes the Bach Preludes and Fugues, which I thought would be helpful are a bit distracting.

Still, Mahler and Bruckner symphonies work in tandem with the muse.

Are only the Romantics of use for modern writers?

I don't hear many film scores with Baroque, neo-Baroque or semi-Baroque themes.

Yet everything is neo-Romantic, or post modern.

Why is that?

All the good film music sounds like Prokofiev or Shostakovich.

What is that about?

RE: Late Beethoven Quartets, Bach Preludes

I personally love listening to things like that. I think that one never hears baroque style music in films because it's not considered to be cool. ANyway, that's just my opinion.
