I find that Beethoven's 15th, 14th and 16th Quartets are quite uplifting, and can bring out the inner Aeschylus.
Yes, sometimes the Bach Preludes and Fugues, which I thought would be helpful are a bit distracting.
Still, Mahler and Bruckner symphonies work in tandem with the muse.
Are only the Romantics of use for modern writers?
I don't hear many film scores with Baroque, neo-Baroque or semi-Baroque themes.
Yet everything is neo-Romantic, or post modern.
Why is that?
All the good film music sounds like Prokofiev or Shostakovich.
What is that about?
