The missing / murdered man in my historical drama-musical dropped a treasured object that he always carried with him.
It's 1875. He was carrying a 'demi pied de roi", which is a hinged tee square, used for measuring something or other. His father was in the Spanish Navy and acquired this on a trip to northern Africa. It is inscribed in Arabic.
What's the inscription say?
It's significant, because the MMC will recognize this object as belonging to his missing friend and realize that the location where it was found means the man was not where he was "last reported" as going...
I have no idea what an inscription on such an object might say (now or at any time, and especially not in the mid 1800's!); and I don't know whether the Arabic script is generic or specific to the missing man's father, etc.
Any ideas?
(thanks for reading this)
