Screenplay revision/rewrite - before my next birthay!

After I won, it took me another week to actually complete
my draft. I called it quits on May 7.

. . . but it's nowhere near finished. I don't even know if it's formatted even remotely the way it ought to be. So as soon as I've had a sufficient break from the project to think critically about it, it'll be editing time!

(Because I'm a dork, I have a numerical completeness-rating system. This draft is what I think of as a 1.0 draft: the first flood of raw word-stuff. I add 0.5 for every major set of alterations 1.5 is the first-level rewrite, and 2.0 is polished enough to get peer edits. 2.5 is when I've changed it after peer review . . . etc.)

My goal is to get to draft 2.0 before I turn 22, on July 27. Hopefully sooner, so I can start getting feedback from the people who have expressed willingness to put up with my writing.

Anyone else have a birthday coming up, and feel like using it as a deadline?

RE: Screenplay revision/rewrite - before my next birthay!

I would like to make the following statement, for the record: At long last, I have finished read-throughs/notes and am actually rewriting.

This would please me a lot more if I hadn't realized over the course of the last month that a great deal of what I wrote wasn't the real story at all. Also, I'm disturbed, because most all of my characters' flaws very closely resemble one or another of my own failings.

But this seems to happen with everything I write, so I will just have to carry on.

RE: Screenplay revision/rewrite - before my next birthay!

It just reminded me when I was cramming for a binge eating help thesis on the month which also happen to fall on my birthday. I spent half of my day finalizing my report and didn't have time to prepare for the party in the evening, LOLS!
