After I won, it took me another week to actually complete
my draft. I called it quits on May 7.
. . . but it's nowhere near finished. I don't even know if it's formatted even remotely the way it ought to be. So as soon as I've had a sufficient break from the project to think critically about it, it'll be editing time!
(Because I'm a dork, I have a numerical completeness-rating system. This draft is what I think of as a 1.0 draft: the first flood of raw word-stuff. I add 0.5 for every major set of alterations 1.5 is the first-level rewrite, and 2.0 is polished enough to get peer edits. 2.5 is when I've changed it after peer review . . . etc.)
My goal is to get to draft 2.0 before I turn 22, on July 27. Hopefully sooner, so I can start getting feedback from the people who have expressed willingness to put up with my writing.
Anyone else have a birthday coming up, and feel like using it as a deadline?
