Celtix!
I've tried it some and seems really easy to use.
And it's free!
Welcome everyone!

RE: What software do you use? |
I've been using CeltX for years now, and it's served me well. Even if I do mourn the move of CeltX Studios to a commercial product.

RE: What software do you use? |
I'm using Final Draft 7. I've used Celtx before though and it is a fine program that can pretty much do everything Final Draft can. If you don't want to spend the money on Final Draft, its a good alternative.

RE: What software do you use? |
I am using Final Draft 8 a lot these days, for a huge project, so I will probably do my Script Frenzying on Celtx. I started writing a script on Adobe Story, just to try it out, but was not happy with the page formatting options. Will try it again a few releases from now.

Celtx as well. I downloaded it last month to try it and fell in love.

I got totally spoiled writing my NaNo novel from the comfy chair by the fireplace, so there's no choice but to slam out the script on my Neo Alpha, then going back to format, but no idea what I'll use for that step.

Celtx for the past two years. Works great, and even has audio format, so it gets mucho brownie points for that.

RE: What software do you use? |
I have been on Final Draft since 2001 when I took a screenwriting class in college, that was way before I could find anything online to use for free. I love it, and yes I paid for it, but hey it was paid for with Christmas money so I really wasn't out any real cash!!!

RE: What software do you use? |
I just downloaded CeltX (because it's free!) and I'm pretty impressed so far. I've been typing all of my character notes and storyboard into the project and it looks pretty good with easy formatting when I typed random stuff in :)

Scrivener on my laptop, and I'm going to try out Screenplay on the iPhone for when I'm away from my computer. I have no idea how Screenplay will work, but I'm hoping it give me another option for the times I'm stuck, but want to work on a scene.

I plan to use Celtx, but I also have Scrivener. Not sure how that would handle formatting things but I do REALLY like the way Celtx handles everything. Somehow the designers of Celtx and I think the same way.

RE: What software do you use? |
I'm in love with Celtx. I used Final Draft in my scriptwriting class for scene practice and my mid-term, and it's really not that different from Celtx. Celtx is free, so that's a major advantage, and it's what I'm using for my final project in that class. Our teacher even recommended it so that broke college students don't have to worry about paying for Final Draft.

RE: What software do you use? |
Yet another CeltX fan here! I'm intending to spend March filling out character sheets, location and props catalogues and page notes. When April 1st rolls around I will be ready to go!
I've had a look at Zhura and Scripped - good online tools but awkward for me, since I work primarily on an off-line laptop.

RE: What software do you use? |
Used to used Final Draft 6, but since my honours year projects for University I've taken to using Celtx, which I find quite satifactory. I especially like the inclusion of a comic script template. The only thing that annoys me is that they made the online features such as collaboration and archiving subscription-only, but I suppose they have to make a profit somehow.

I used Celtx for a couple of years but when you save a file to .pdf it tends to add odd spaces throughout the action lines and at the bottom of random pages. I use Final Draft 8 now.

CeltX. It's free. I wouldn't mind trying out other programs, just to see what's up with them, but I think I need a new computer before I can really think about new software ... (yes, it's that bad)

RE: What software do you use? |
RoughDraft!
For ScriptFrenzy I use Screenplay mode. There is also a Stage/Radio play mode. I use the Normal mode for my novel writing.
It is very basic - you can't add pictures or clips or any of the other stuff that Celtx and other software let you add - but it is a great tool to use to WRITE. (no extra features, no distractions.)
I can't remember how I handled the PDF printing last year. I think I have a utility to Print to PDF format. Either that or I opened the RTF file in Word and printed to PDF from there. I'll have to look it up.
RoughDraft works on all versions of Windows from 95 to Vista and Windows 7. (32-bit, for sure. I don't know if it works on 64-bit machines.)
http://www.salsbury.f2s.com/rd_download.htm
It may work on Linux or Mac with Wine, but I don't have the instructions for that.

Celtx for the script itself, and a mix of iWork Pages, TextEdit and good ol' notebooks for, well, the notes.

RE: What software do you use? |
I finally settled on Celtx. I'm actually writing a script for a game for an engine that is currently unfinished. I've proven the usefulness of the script format I chose for my engine in that I quickly built a tool that lets me convert Celtx screenplays into working game scripts (that I can use tools I've already built to visualize them as state machine graphs, and run them as working prototypes). This week, I've also written a tool to better let me store my Celtx files in the version control system of my choice so that I'll have a good strong history of my work over the course of writing.
I'm certainly hopeful that this will be a winning combination for me.

RE: What software do you use? |
I'm going to try Celtx once again. Last year I tried, but then I think you had to have an account if you wanted to convert to PDF. If that's still true, then it's back to bad old MSWord for me...

RE: What software do you use? |
Celtx for sure. That's been my go to script writing program for the past four years and I love all the features it has for planning and character development, so there's no way I'm going to risk trying out another program when I have a great one right here that's free.

Like many of you, I'm a Celtx girl! But only for Script Frenzy. Normally I don't write scripts, and don't like using Celtx for novel writing. But one month out of the year, Celtx comes out to shine!
