April always seems to drag its feet getting here, then BAM! It is right outside the front door.
There are two glorious prep weekends before April 1.
You'll make your future self so happy if you take some time now to prepare. Some ideas on making the most of March:
- Brainstorm
- Run ideas by your friends, people in line at the grocery store, folks in an elevator with you. Get feedback before you develop anything too far. You'll find out right quick what ideas are home runs and what ideas strike out.
- Grab and fill out the amazing character and plot worksheets.
- Stock up on coffee and hot chocolate.
- Invite at least one friend to the Frenzy. It'll be easier with someone to write with. If nothing else, they can watch your laptop when you duck into the restroom during writing sessions.
- And read. You've seen movies, plays, TV programs, but how many scripts have you read? Get an idea of the look and feel of storytelling through a script before April arrives. There are a good deal of full-length scripts available online. Check out imsdb.com.
We've also created a Library of our favorite websites, blogs, and books to help you make the most of the two weeks before April 1.
