Wow, this Script Frenzy whipped by pretty quickly, but on behalf of my sister ML omouse and myself, I'd like to send a big congrats to everyone who participated in this year's event! Lots of you started scripts and some of you came very close to finishing, but out of 235 registered Los Angelelos, here are the 35 of you who persevered and wrote at least 100 pages of a script!

Despite my best intentions, yesterday didn't go so well. I'm supposed to be writing dark comedy, but so far everything has been so not funny.

I am writing the set-up, so I guess it's okay not to be funny... because she's still in her normal, every day mode, but I want the funny dammit!

Hey, Script Frenzy Folks! I've finally returned from vacation and am ready to do your bidding as your friendly Los Angeles Municipal Liaison. The amazing oMouse (Jenny) is handling the Long Beach/South Bay area, while I service pretty much everything north of LAX.

I'm scheduling Write Outs in Venice, Santa Monica and Hollywood (for Sam), but it looks like a lot of you are in the San Fernando Valley too. I'd like to schedule more Write Outs around the city, so let me know where you are. Hopefully, I can schedule an event near you!

Story Thread

A little experiment.
Below I have begun a story in screenplay format that has yet to be written. The genre and characters are not defined in any way. Post your own follow up scenes sequentially, beginning where the last post left off. Hopefully, in the coming weeks we'll have the makings of a coherent story.

FADE IN:

EXT. COLD ROCKY SHORELINE -- MORNING

Wind-whipped seas disrupt the otherwise motionless environment. Grey clouds loom heavy in the distance. TARA, a fragile specter of a girl, looks out into the brooding sea, her back to a small cottage sitting atop a rocky cliff.

She will not be going back there.

Tara grips something tightly in her hand. Blood trickles slowly down her palm to her finger tips.
