Fountain: a new option for formatting screenplays

I just found out about this from a link on Daring Fireball. It's a plain-text screenwriting markup language called Fountain. The website is http://fountain.io/.

Looks pretty cool and is similar to Markdown, which is another plain text markup language I've used with great success in the past, including for a draft of last year's NaNoWriMo project.

Android app?

Hi folks. I'm looking into doing script frenzy this year; in the past I've tried NaNo, but this year I'd like to try a comic script.

If possible I'd like to be able to work from both my laptop and phone; but I can't find any decent apps. Can anyone recommend something? Editing on my phone (Android) is probably more important that the laptop right now, but it would be nice if I could do both. GDocs is nice, but I find it takes too much time to sort out formatting.

Many thanks for any suggestions, folks :)

Figuring Out Final Draft

Hi!
Thank you for this fun and resourceful site.

I'm writing a script with another writer. We would like to work on the script simultaneously on our respective laptops.

Is this possible with Final Draft 8? We have each downloaded the program to our computers, both Macs.

We would like to be working (making changes etc) on the same script but on two different computers.

Any advice for me?

Cheers!

Celtx - Foreign Characters

I'm not sure if anyone else has this problem, but I cannot get simple questions answered on Celtx forum. For instance, I am writing another screenplay now with some foreign words in it. I have not been able to figure out how to insert foreign characters in it - umlauts, accents, etc... Anybody know?

HELP!

Hi, I hope I'm posting this in the right place. I can't seem to find the script verification page so y'all know that I actually wrote 100+ pages. It could be that I wrote the last 25 pages in a little under 2 hours and my brain is fried, but please help a writer out! Thanks everyone!

Can't scramble text.

Word, works, doesn't matter. That thing with replace all isn't working for me. Is it accurate on the FAQ.

Also, what if I convert it to PDF and it isn't 100 pages? I didn't really pay attention to formatting, but its 101-112 depending on if I'm using works (because I prefer to) or word (because I thought maybe it'd be easier to scramble text but nope)

You don't actually "win" anything for this, do you?

Scripped and page counts.

For interests sake I copied and pasted my script into a word document and it added 10 pages to my word count. Now that could be due to the margins I guess but should I just stick to the scripped page count.

Also, my PDFs are in A4 not letter which I think will make a difference. Is there a way to fix it?

Yikes! IS my script formated correctly??

So in Writer's Resources there is the "American" format for Scripts. I clicked on it and it opened in MS. So I've been using it, thinking that's right. Now I'm thinking...is MS accurate?? *gulps*
