Crime/Gangster/Thriller/Mystery
Writing a city you're not familiar with
My story concerns an FBI field office, which are only in large cities. So pretty much any setting I could choose is one that a lot of people are familiar with. Problem is, I've never lived in any major city, so I'm not at all familiar with any of the locations. Does anyone know a good way to work around this, short of grabbing a map and a guidebook?
What's Your Plot?
I'm shuffling between three ideas at the moment but the here's the one I think I'll write for Script Frenzy this year:
The Crow Cuckoo- A shy teen on vacation with her family accidentally restarts a broken clock after she removes photographs wedged in the gears, causing the clock to run backwards. What event is the clock counting down to and who is the beauty in the photos?
Not the best logline ever but I'll tighten it up as the screenplay is written.
Scriptwriter's Mafia
In the summer of 2008, the Scriptwriter’s Mafia was formed and later disbanded after the three top members were involved in a mysterious plane crash. In the spring of 2009, two of the top members, Theanab and Transience, joined together again to reform the Mafia despite the disappearance of the third.
The two were last seen together in Brazil, after a failed search for their rivals, the Mondivi brothers. They presumably separated there.
