INT. HALLWAY OUTSIDE LISA’S OFFICE - DAY
Chris is handing some reports to Lisa who has leaned her crutches against the wall. She begins to read the reports when two secretaries walk past. They stop talking to each other as they approach.
SECRETARY #1
Hi, Lisa...Chris.
CHRIS
Hi.
SECRETARY #1
(to Lisa)
How is your ankle?
LISA
Better, thank you.
The two secretaries nod and walk off. Just before they turn a corner, they look back at Chris and Lisa, then to each other and smile. One puts her hand to her mouth to cover what she is saying, still looking at Lisa and Chris.
LISA (CONT’D)
(waits until they disappear, then softly to Chris)
Now we’re living together.
CHRIS
What?
LISA
That’s the rumor now.
CHRIS
I wonder who’s pushing the story.
LISA
Not me.
CHRIS
Not me.
Lisa picks up her crutches.
CHRIS (CONT’D)
Nice earrings. They’re the same ones I remember. You weren’t wearing much else.
LISA
You were naked also.
CHRIS
I had a robe on. Not naked.
LISA
It came open when you fell. I saw that and ogled.
Lisa puts the crutches under her arms and clumps into her office. Chris watches as her door closes and smiles before walking away.
