EPISODE 001

Prologue – Scene One

FADE IN.

EXT. BLACKWOOD VILLAGE - NIGHT

It’s a windy evening. We can see the wind moving the trees in the darkness, can hear their whispering. We see BLACKWOOD VILLAGE in the distance, a jumble of houses in the dark, their lights welcoming and bright.

We hear a crunch of gravel and see a dark car heading towards the village, as it makes its way towards the houses clustered on top of the hills and valleys of the village.

INT. BLACK CAR – NIGHT

SANDY DURAN, a beautiful woman of about thirty years of age with curling dark hair, sits comfortably in the back of the car. She looks out of the window as the car approaches the village.

A beat and then the SOUND of her VOICE begins to FILTER IN:

SANDY (Voice Over)
I had no idea what awaited me in Blackwood.
If I had known, I would have stayed away. If I had
known how my life would change, I would never
have come.

We watch as the car drives closer to the village. SANDY puts a hand to the glass window of the car and stares out at the houses that are quickly becoming larger. It drives up to a large, sprawling house on the edge of town. Through the window of the car we see a wooden sign hanging out front, moving in the wind. It says: BLACKBOOD INN.

EXT. BLACKWOOD INN – NIGHT

SANDY DURN exits the car, helped out by a DRIVER. She looks up at the building nervously.

A beat and then the SOUND of her VOICE continues to FILTER IN:

SANDY (Voice Over)
But sometimes choices are made for us. And we
have no choice but to go along with them.

SANDY takes her bags from the DRIVER and approaches the large front door. There is a tarnished knocker in the shape of a crescent moon. SANDY takes hold of it and knocks three times.

SANDY (Voice Over)
I have come here to find my destiny. Or to let it
find me.

The door opens and we see blackness. SANDY steps forward into the shadows and the door closes behind her.
