An Excerpt from Keeper of his Smile
Vic was a middle-aged male, as yet unidentified. Shot in the chest five or six times, all dead-center. Slash marks across the throat, preliminary count was about twelve. All pretty shallow, but there were so many his head nearly fell off when they went to move the body. She was found about three feet away, covered in blood splatter, gun in hand. Out cold, no trauma apparent. Didn’t come to until they were half-way to Regents, then told them she wanted Acres instead. Something about being covered there. [shrug] Went through the check with no problem, clean as a whistle, no argument in being detained. Followed process, no oppositions to being booked. Says she can’t remember what happened at the crime scene, but sure as hell didn’t put up a fight about being taken down for suspicion of murder.
