EXT. ORPHANAGE THRESHOLD - NIGHT
Shophac is more or less bidding Brendan goodbye.
SHOPHAC
Stay alert. Be wise.
(hands Brendan a sheathed dagger)
Keep this close at hand, but not in sight.
Brendan nods crisply, taking the dagger. Sarah is right at his side.
BRENDAN
Thank you, Shophac.
SHOPHAC
May God guide your steps.
Sarah tugs on Brendan's messenger bag, and he glances at her, and starts to slowly step back.
BRENDAN
Goodbye!
Shophac holds up a hand in farewell. Brendan turns, and the Prodigy leads him away at a quick pace. Brendan glances back, only to slightly wave again.
CAMERA ON: Shophac, standing there in the moonlight, watching Brendan go. Camera slowly pans away to give the illusion of movement.
CAMERA ON: Keno, who is standing inside the threshold, watching these things transpire, a bit puzzled to what is going on. He steps out next to Shophac, watching Brendan go. Shophac is only moderately surprised by his presence.
KENO
Why is he leaving?
SHOPHAC
Oh Keno... he's got quite a task ahead of him.
