INT. APARTMENT LIVING ROOM - night

KYLE and JUNIPER stand in front of a VERY LARGE PLASTIC BALL. The BALL is so huge it takes up 70% of their living room. It is simultaneously sitting on coffee table, the couch, and the recliner. The BALL reaches all the way up to the ceiling.

KYLE

How did that get through the door?

JUNIPER

It came in that box.

JUNIPER points to a shoe box on top of the TV. The show that is currently on appears to be a PBS NOVA special about volcanoes. Lava erupts from an active volcano. JUNIPER walks over to the TV and turns it off.

KYLE

So, what is it? Who sent it?

JUNIPER

No idea. This day is so fucking crazy.

KYLE opens the BOX that the sphere came in. He pulls out what looks like an invoice and reads it aloud.

KYLE

Dear Customer, to activate this life sphere do the following in order. Number one: believe. number two: place both hands on the life sphere. number three: visualize the universe . . . are you kiding me? Did your hippy friend Jacky send this to us?

JUNIPER

What does it say next.

KYLE

That's it.

KYLE flips the paper over and reads it aloud as JUNIPER places her hands on the sphere for the first time since it's arrival.

KYLE

That's life!

JUNIPER

Funny.

KYLE

I'm not being funny. That's what it says.

He holds the paper up for her to see, and indeed, in large writing, the paper says, "That's life!"

JUNIPER

So, should we try it.

KYLE

I don't think so. We have no idea what this thing is! It could catch fire or explode for all we know. We should call the building management. Maybe even the police.

JUNIPER

You're so paranoid.

KYLE

Careful. It's called careful.

JUNIPER

Come on, live a little, pajama boy.

JUNIPER places her hands on the globe and closes her eyes. KYLE walks up to her, shakes his head at himself and places his hands on the ball as well.

int. Life sphere - night

KYLE and JUNIPER are inside their living room inside the life sphere.

KYLE

Brilliant.

JUNIPER

(Laughing)

That's life.

KYLE

Not funny at all. How the hell'll we get out of here.

JUNIPER

Get it? That's life?

They begin to move.

ext. the sky - night

KYLE and JUNIPER are far away from everything. Darkness surrounds them. They sit back to back in the sphere. They can see stars in the distance.
