INT./EXT. BRIDGE, SITH DREADNOUGHT
DARTH MALAK, an armour-clad giant of a man, stands in front of the window on the bridge of the Sith command ship, looking out over the world of Taris. The lower half of the Sith Lord’s face is hidden behind a menacing silver circlet. ADMIRAL KARATH, a short, weaselly man dressed in an ornate uniform approaches the Dark Jedi cautiously.
DARTH MALAK
Yes, Admiral?
Malak continues to stare at the planet below, and does not turn to face the other man.
ADMIRAL KARATH
My Lord, the Exchange is refusing to cooperate. They claim to have the mission commander, but are demanding a one million credit ransom before they hand her over.
DARTH MALAK
I will not be dictated to by petty criminals. Bastila will not escape me again. We must teach this scum the price of defying the Sith.
(beat)
Deploy the fleet. Wipe this pathetic planet from the face of the galaxy!
ADMIRAL KARATH
(appalled)
There are over one hundred thousand of our troops stationed on the surface! Not to mention billions of innocent civilians!
Malak finally turns and leans over the shorter man threateningly.
DARTH MALAK
Are you questioning my orders, Admiral?
Karath backs away nervously, palms raised in supplication.
ADMIRAL KARATH
(stuttering)
Of course not, Lord Malak. But it will take several hours to get our ships into bombardment positions.
Malak waves the Admiral away dismissively and turns back to face the window.
DARTH MALAK
Then don’t waste any more time, Admiral.
