An Excerpt from Man of Fire
I'm attempting to write my second (I hope) imaginative play based around the characters in large public art sculptures by an under-appreciated British sculptor. I'm using these characters to guide the central character to appreciate the power of creating "figments" of imagination through sleep and dreaming and the power of metaphors for transmitting and receiving these "figments" - the sculptors characters being examples of the sculptors "figments". The theme is imagination, self-realisation and awakening; it sounds like a lot of new age crap to me too but that's where I am with it at the moment. It's also semi-autobiographical. I'll include songs I've previously written and also intend to write and include new songs and instrumental music and some poetry but I will also need to include other commercial musical excepts.
