An Excerpt from The Quiet Ones
Varied stills of empty hallways. Signs about prom and other high school functions dot the walls. Muffled sound of basketball game can be heard echoing off of the walls at times (differing volume to imply proximity to gymnasium)
TERRI (V.O.)
The quiet ones. That's what they call us. Doesn't matter what school you go to, what country you live in, or what grade you're in. There's always quiet ones around you...
Bleachers are 'packed' with people enjoying the game. We move across the crowd, passing seemingly 'random' faces of people who look at odds with their surroundings - staying silent while other cheer, looking more at the crowd than the game, a cheerleader (CONSTANCE) who is less-than-cheerful, etc., - but the panning never lingers.
TERRI (V.O.)
It's okay of you either don't see us or couldn't pick us out of a crowd even if you wanted to. We're pretty used to it. See, we're the nerds... the misfits... the outcasts...
Focus on TERRI, seated in the exact center of the crowd, who breaks the fourth wall with an intense glare.
TERRI
...the shunned.
