RE: In Continuation....

Yay Alex! You did it. We're back up and running. If only I had something to say, or something to write about. Sadly I have neither.

Hope your day is going better for you. (You should have at least more hours of it remaining than I have.)

RE: In Continuation....

In fact, I do have more hours in the day! And even more because of this new polyphasic sleep thing with which I am experimenting. Nap 5 of Day 1 is coming up in about...2 hours. I'm liking this only sleep three hours spread throughout the day thing. Of course, I haven't reached that point of sleep deprivation that will hit tomorrow. Hm. I have nothing to say, and yet for some reason I keep typing...

on another note, I've been listening to the killers nonstop for 24 hours, including during my little naps. And if you count the times when it was influencing my subconscious during my long sleep not last night but the night before, then that's about two days of nonstop Killers. Hm.

RE: In Continuation....

At least you're trying something new. I'm off to bed soon as I got to drive back down to work tomorrow for a nice early start on Monday. I haven't listened to much music today but I am typing this while the movie "Election" is on in the background.

So carrying on from the Nano thread which I just briefly skimmed before I came back here, is it normal for you Californians not to have to go to school? Seems rather trusting to me - I wish they had done that when I was at school, but having said that I wouldn't have actually done anything.

How are the short stories going by the way? I wish I could say that I write a lot but I don't, I can only manage a few thousand words a week and that's just on my nano. Do you find it easy to work on short stories as I don't, as I tend to go off on tangents.

And to think we haven't had a proper funeral yet.

If this post seems long, then maybe it will prompt other people to join in, but because it hasn't been mentioned here yet I'll mention the magic panties and see if anyone wonders what they are or where they are.

RE: In Continuation....

No, it's definitely not normal. I hated the school I was at, and I just, um, decided to stop going to school for about two weeks. How? You just don't get out of bed. There's nothing they can do! I'm now in this independent studies program, and it's generally for kids who are either pregnant and/or recovering drug addicts, but yeah. You have to go through some long process to get it involving the law and "health professionals", and anyway, having lawyer parents helps. Haha. I'm transferring to the performing arts magnet school next year, so this is just until the end of the school year.

The short stories are coming along fairly well. I wrote a rather upsetting one last night that ended up with a kitten dying, which is very odd because I have no idea how that got in my head. What's your NaNo about? (if you dont mind my asking.)

Althreado - and his twin - this is just too much to handle. Perhaps we should arrange a funeral soon....

Trust me, they will come swarming when they read "magic panties."

RE: In Continuation....

So this means that I'm not talking to Juno right? Maybe I shouldn't say that as I'll probably get sued. (I haven't seen the film, but it is awards season and it won practically eeverything, so I'll probably see it when it comes out on DVD).

That school thing sound interesting, at least a rich source for future stories (all names have been changed to protect the non-innocent and all that). Ooh, a performer. So you going to be a star then?

Now to give you an indication of my sense of humo(u)r when you mentioned the kitten dying, I laughed. Sick isn't it? So you can really write a story in one day? that's amazing! How many words an hour do you average?

As for my story it is an epic quest set in Medieval Times (not the restaurant). And it is called - are you ready for this:

Donkey Donkey Donkey Donkey: A Trilogy In Almost One Part

It is, if I may say, utter crap, but I'm keeping going so that I can at least say that I've completed a story. I'm on my fourth notepad as of a couple of weeks ago. The basic plot involves a jewelry box being returned to its rightful owner.

As soon as more people hitch their wagon to this thread where all the cool kids (and me) are hanging out then we can give Althreado a proper send off, and at least that way it can last until next Feb.

RE: In Continuation....

Nope, I am proudly not pregnant, nor am I addicted to any substances. =D

It's not so much a school though...I don't see any of the other people in it. Basically it's just like homeschooling but your parents don't teach you and you're still enrolled in public school.

Haha, I wish. When I was really little (okay, up until I was 10) and people asked me what I wanted to be, I always answered, "famous." But yeah, I like acting. I've been acting about as long as I've been writing, but I took a hiatus for the past year or so. :( sad. So I'm looking forward to getting involved again.

Aw you laughed at the kitten!!?? I almost cried and I had to go find my little kitten (well he's a cat but he looks like a kitten and acts like one) to make sure he was still alive. :(

Honestly, I have no idea how many words per hour I average. I have no concept of time, really, and whenever I do time myself I get really nervous. I hand wrote this one last night because I left my laptop in the family room and my dad was sleeping out there and it was too risky to go get it. :( Sometimes I can write two stories a day, and then there's spells where I haven't written anything cohesive in a month. So it goes in phases.

Donkey Donkey Donkey Donkey - just reading that made me laugh hysterically. Luckily I remembered to not drink Vitamin Water around the forums. Then I felt the need to say "Donkey Donkey Donkey Donkey" aloud in as many different intonations and melodies as possible.

Good idea. I'll start thinking about the memorial ceremony.

People, people, join in so we can have a proper funeral for Althreado and his brother! *tear*

RE: In Continuation....

Hi hi, guys. I agree with Alex - reading the title of your NaNo gives me the giggles, Matt.

I don't really have much to contribute to this thread just yet. I just came bouncing back over to these forums to kickstart it into gear. Who's going to start the "Would Your Character Ever?" game? I admit, I need all the help I can get with my cast. Which currently consists of one person. And maybe his older sister, her husband, and any kids they may or may not have. (I think they'll not be very major characters.. you know, the sort mentioned and glimpsed in passing.)

And there's someone else lurking on the edges, not saying anything about where he or she comes in to this. I suppose more of a plot would come in handy, too...
