[STICKY] Welcome Thread! |
So, seeing as I seem to be the only one that is confessing to writing a Romantic Comedy - I'll go first. (and an empty forum is like clean snow...it has to be trampled on. I was going to use a different analogy, but I'm not a guy and ... well, less of that particular grave i'm digging hehe)
I'm Kay in London. i decided to do script frenzy on a whim as i did nanowrimo in 2007 and won (by 50 words). I'm basing my script on a story I wrote a while back that was very chaotic and fun, but needs a little love attention and taming and possibly a complete plot rewrite >_<
Add me if you want a writing buddy, i am very friendly, and annoyingly upbeat first thing in the morning ;)
oh - i work in post production for film which gives me NO advantage whatsoever.

Haha, I was waiting for someone to make the first post. :P
I'm doing this on a whim too. It's my first time writing a script ever. I attempted NaNo and failed because I chose the worst plot ever. Hopefully, this one will work out.
Honestly, I wasn't going to do a romance. However, I am a secret romance lover (check out my Netflix rentals). If my friends knew, they would think I've gone insane. It will be a romantic comedy with some serious bits mixed in. At least I hope it will be funny; I'm not so certain if I can do funny dialogue. :/

This is my second script frenzy, but hopefully my first win! I live in Lexington, KY, and I am a full-time mom and student. I'm roughly writing a romantic comedy, but only in the way that it doesn't work out the way they always do, not in the traditional sense anyway.

This is my first Screnzy, but I've done Nano three times and won. Personally the idea of a screenplay seems a bit more frightening than a novel, but I'm still excited! I feel REALY weird being in the Romance forum, seeing as all three of my Nanos were fantasy, but I think it will be a nice change. :-)
I'm Joanna, have the misfortune to live in the Valley of the Shadow of Death--I mean the Sun (aka Phoenix, AZ)--and my screenplay is inspired by the basic concept of Jane Austen's "Persuasion."
Nice to meet you all!

This is my second SF, hopefully my second win though my first attempt at working with a partner. I've also won NaNo for the last three years but I'm way out of my element working in scripts rather than novels -- despite having to write more words for NaNo, SF is harder for me!
I'm working with my current roommate to adapt Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice into a musical -- we'll see how that goes. It should be a great deal of fun because we don't intend on taking it seriously at all.

Hey there! I'm Gavin (yes, a guy) from Phoenix, AZ. I'm doing a romantic comedy between a biomolecular engineer (the guy) and a genetic botanist (with a penchant for mad science, this is the gal) on board a space station. So it's going to be weird and awesome at the same time. There will be romance, humor, and mutated plants for all!
+=+=+=+
Screnzy '08: Ceres. It's a romantic comedy between two mad scientists in space.
NaNo 2007: The Dragon Herald. (It's really not much like it sounds like.) Failed pretty badly, blah. :-/
NaNo 2006: Jerusalem O'Kira, Blockade Runner. I WON!

It's interesting... I feel like I have to work romance into every screenplay by default, and yet I'm such a cynic... well, I'm not doing romantic comedy, but I figured I should show my face because I'll certainly be drawing on some romantic ideas in my script.

RE: Welcome Thread! |
Hello all!
I'm looking forward to this. I've been writing scripts for a while, but I've lost my motivation so I've been stuck in a rut for a bit. A Nano friend suggested this to me, and it's actually really kickstarted me! Not sure how it's all going to go but I'm chuffed to get that writing buzz again.
Good luck everyone! It's time for me to start plotting and think up a title!

RE: [STICKY] Welcome Thread! |
This is my first Frenzy. I did Nano in November but didn't quite make it past the finish line. I have never written a script but do Script Consulting. I have learned a great deal about script writing and my writing of fiction also helps.
I am writing a romantic comedy and hoping to put a twist in it. It is going to be about two people that find each other but it doesn't work out how it should.
