Spiritualised,
They Might Be Giants,
Nine Inch Nails,
the Oh Brother, Where Art Thou soundtrack,
the Magnolia soundtrack and
the Juno soundtrack.

RE: Writing playlist

I always play around with my list as I go, so that the overall mood of the music matches whatever I'm writing at the moment.

The one song that's always somewhere in the list when I'm writing is "The Engine Driver" by The Decemberists. There's one part of the chorus that says, "And I am a writer, writer of fictions, I am the heart that you call home. And I've written pages upon pages trying to rid you from my bones...my bones."

That song always puts me in the right mindset.

"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."

RE: Writing playlist

I just bought the Juno soundtrack yesterday and was listening to it on the car ride home and suddenly realized that I would be listening to it over and over all during Screnzy.

I totally dig They Might Be Giants too.

The rest of my playlist is:

MeWithoutYou
Interpol
Requiem for a Dream sountrack
The Fountain sountrack (I love the Kronos Quartet...)
Violent Femmes

RE: Writing playlist

Oooh, the Garden State soundtrack. Good call.

Although I've just added Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and The Moody Blues to mine. So I may have to trim it. Getting rid of one of the Expectations might be a good start...

"Haec credam a deo pio? A deo iusto, a deo scito? Cruciatus in crucem. Tuus in terra servus, nuntius fui. Officium perfeci. Cruciatus in crucem. Eas in crucem!"

If what I have to say is irresponsible, then I alone am responsible for the saying of it

RE: Writing playlist

Let's see... I have a whole ton of music, so I honestly have no idea. The most likely candidates, though, are:

Sweeney Todd soundtrack
Disney music
Kingdom Hearts (1 and 2) soundtracks
Pan's Labyrinth soundtrack
Bon Jovi
Death Note soundtrack
RENT soundtrack
Wicked soundtrack
Tin Man soundtrack

Whoo. That's a pretty random assortment I've got there. I wonder what kind of screenplay I'll be writing to go along with it...?
