Adapting RPG campaigns

Back in the mid-1990s, when I belonged to an anime club, I watched Record of Lodoss War, then found out that it originated as a D&D campaign that one of the players (DM?), Ryo Mizuno, turned into a novel series. I had just discovered GURPS, so I decided right then (1994) to plot Spanner as an Illuminated GURPS Cyberpunk campaign. Of all the GURPS books I'm still missing, the most important is GURPS Illuminati

Anybody else writing their scripts from roleplaying campaigns (pen & paper or MMORPG)?

RE: Adapting RPG campaigns

Well, that's one of the ideas I'm playing around with - there is this place www.lotrplaza.com where there was a huge RPG campaign I was a part of. But I'm worried about rights - and it's the Tolkien world, so there are LOTS or rights outside those of the actual RPGers - and things like that, which are daunting. SO IF I do write it, then it will be only for me, and my fun. :) I don't know if I would be able to handle that -might be bored out of writing it at all.

RE: Adapting RPG campaigns

A friend and I are doing our own d20 modern campaign. In fact, we write the dialog in our script writing program. :P

Still too much in the early stages to use though. :(

RE: Adapting RPG campaigns

Ah jeez, I remember those good times. I think an adaptation of our dnd campaigns would be a little too ridiculous. They probably actually be better if done mainly staying with the ridiculousness that happened OOC, and only occasionally getting into the epic battles IC.

Damn, that might actually turn out pretty good...
