Is anyone writing their own soundtrack?

I know I am! Being the hopelessly optomistic person I am, I like to think if my script was ever made into a movie, the original music could be nominated for an Academy Award!^.^ Is anyone else like this?

RE: Is anyone writing their own soundtrack?

What a splendid idea! Perhaps I'll try that :D Good thing I'm a saxophonist.

one really airy guitar piece i have (capoed on 4th) should fit quite nicely during the bonfire of the vanities.

RE: Is anyone writing their own soundtrack?

I love composing music. I will for sure be writing my soundtrack. I'll just have to get over the problem of composing for orchestra... I'm more of a band person myself. I've never really composed any orchstra pieces.

RE: Is anyone writing their own soundtrack?

I'll probably end up writing something to go with my screenplay, though I can't say how much would be soundtrack material, and how much would be "inspired by" material. If anyone can manage a demo recording or two in April, it would be neat to hear the moods that go with your words.

RE: Is anyone writing their own soundtrack?

I am. I'm also using songs that I wrote for FAWM in my scripts.

April is going to be an interesting month.

I tried to be perfect, it just wasn't worth it.
I don't know how it got so bad.
It's hard to believe me, it never gets easy.
I guess I knew it all along.

RE: Is anyone writing their own soundtrack?

Well, I'm writing lyrics, but I'm not competent to compose the music. It would be fun though.

I'm Kramer's Dog/Reggie Punk/Ming Yunn. I actually just set up a thread for FAWMers in the Writing Groups thing.

RE: Is anyone writing their own soundtrack?

I recognise you from the forums. I'm Mal at FAWM. I would have been Mal here, but the registration database insisted that I already existed. I'll get me over to the Writing Groups things and find your thread. There are an handful of us here that I know of. You can check my profile to find them (all but Slady01 and Slade Made Films are FAWMers), or check the Script Frenzy thread at the FAWM forums.
