Hello everyone! |
Anyone out in good old saskatchewan attempting for a second year of script frenzy madness? Or trying it for the first time? If so what is your script about? Any major plots or are you just winging it like so many of us do? :)
I am trying to get a story idea at least before the first of April but am failing and might be just winging it after all. :P

RE: Hello everyone! |
Hi, Jess. I've signed up for the second time. Last year, I had my plot and characters ahead of time and was ready to go. This year, I signed up and now I'm sitting here at the keyboard wondering what the heck I'm going to write about. It will be another stage play. I think.
I crashed my bicycle three weeks ago and really screwed up my right shoulder so now I can only type for about ten minutes before I can't use my arm anymore. Defintiely gets in the way of writing. Oh well, there's still time before The Frenzy begins.
Here's hoping we come up with some great ideas.
Miss Dora.

RE: Hello everyone! |
haha, ya my wrist is pretty screwed, from an old injury and a new one that I don't know how I got. *looks at wrapped hand* so I didn't even think how that's going to hurt my typying time but I guess I will just have to try my hardest and throw a couple ice packs on. *smiles*
I really want to go for the "evil" in this script! I was thinking of doing it from the point of Dracula(one ofmy characters that I just named that for now), who becomes a leader. Also happens to be one of my most favoritest characters. But not sure, so many characters that need stories and books, that they maze well go in a script.
Well Miss Dora I hope your shoulder gets better and we WILL come up with something soon.. lol.. 6 days left before the insanity starts. Yay! :P

RE: Hello everyone! |
Hi, you two. FYI, orangekiss, I am lucky to count Miss Dora as a writing buddy. We had worked together for quite a few years, and participated in Nanowrimo together for two years. This is my first year for scriptfrenzy. I am thinking of a dark mysterious drama with two main characters, a man and a woman. . .probably set in Saskatoon. A stage play, I guess, though I know nothing about doing such a thing. However, I have been to plays, and thus I am qualified!
No injuries so far, sorry, folks, I also have quite a bit of time to write. So far not very focussed, so I'll have to get my brain organized to start April 1. Good to have your company. JP

Geez, we're all here :).
I still need to rewrite last year's lesbian Nazi zombie script (it was supposed to be the ultimate B-movie, but by the time it was done it would have cost vast amounts to make); this year's is a romantic comedy about a vampire and a chainsaw-wielding priest, set partly in Saskatchewan :).

RE: Hello everyone! |
Hello :) I've done Nano for a few years now as well, 2 years winning that.
I attempted this last year, but June is the craziest month at work for me and I didn't get very far. Hoping an April will go better for it, and think it will. Will be doing the first few episodes of a kids tv series, me thinks. Plan to work on characters and a bit of an outline today.

Hey everyone!
I've down nano twice now, winning both (yay!), but this will be my first time doing script frenzy. I will be writing a science fiction script about a far away planet which is on the brink of self annihilation due to the discovery of a new yet unstable energy source. I hope it goes well. Haha.
Good luck to everyone else!

RE: Hello everyone! |
I'm toying with doing Script Frenzy again, though I haven't made up my mind. If I do take part, I have three ideas from which to choose:
1) Write part 2 of my 2007 Nanowrimo novel as a script instead of a novel, just so I can complete the first draft. Plus, my outline is done and I'll be able to hit the ground running.
2) I have this fun, offbeat idea about writing a 3-part Simpsons script featuring obscure minor characters instead of the Simpsons. The Simpsons have been kidnapped and the minor characters need to save them! Clearly, I've been watching too many reruns.
3) A story about a teenager who grew up living in a small hydro-electric dam in an isolated mountainous area. I have no idea what this story would be about, though.

Wow, a lot of people from Saskatchewan are in on this! :P
Ya somehow my story turned into a love story one me! Thought I didn't realize how hard this was going to be this year with working forty hours a week plus having a life. lol... but I'm going along with it and it seems to be flowing alright. Anyone elses stories taking turns on there own?

RE: Hello everyone! |
Haha, yeah. My script was originally intended as a sci-fi/action story, now it's become like a sci-fi/mystery/suspense story, and I'm only 18 pages done! Haha

Writing is fun! |
Hi, scriptwriters!
I had trouble getting started because I was too busy with family matters and other distractions, but now I've gotten off to a great start and I like what I'm writing about. I hope to actually finish the story this time, as I was unable to do in my two nanowrimo projects, because I achieved the word count but was still far away from concluding the tale.
I guess this is a process of cutting the extra stuff and getting the main points covered. Also it's a matter of having some idea of where the plot is going, and how it concludes sometime before actually writing it. I like winging it, but I think a bit of planning is a good idea.
My effort is a love story. Quite philosophical. I hope you are all gaining some stimulating writing experience. JP
