RE: They fall in love!

Well, if you can't layer adjective upon adjective on your main characters, they can't possibly fall in love.

RE: They fall in love!

He's a crap electrician, and his theremin electrocutes her kid (like total meetcute!). Unfortunately, he's a guy grounded (sorry) in practical things and women who use phrases like "emotional center" make him vomit. But he changes his mind when he hears about the tragic accident that destroyed her gag reflex and realizes that she has her problems too. Later in the hospital, the machine that's keeping her kid alive fails and he's the one who fixes it, saving her kid. Naturally, at the end, she falls in love and their first kiss is interrupted by her kid waking up from the coma.

RE: They fall in love!

That's pretty good, actually. I'd probably watch that, especially if the name caught my interest.

My story actually just got started a few hours ago, but I do know that their meeting is going to have something to do with the guy being on a trip with his friend to ESPN2 headquarters to demand that snowtubing be recognized as an extreme sport, and in the end, the guy and girl have to fight a giant spider. There'll be plenty of seriousness within, though, as you can see from the excerpt I just added to my profile.

RE: They fall in love!

This was just meant to be a joke thread...sorry.

I've, um, already got a plot. They meet through the decade-displaced glitter kid, who was a high school friend of hers, he wins her over uneventfully, their relationship falters due to his neuroses, her other friends save it, and it fails thanks to her neuroses, but the kid gets them back together.

This was just supposed to be a bit of self-deprecating humor for all you romantics out there.

RE: They fall in love!

I guess I'm insufficiently steeped in the chamomile tea of romance, but what, exactly, is a decade-displaced glitter kid?

RE: They fall in love!

Short answer: A Marc Bolan impersonator born about five years after he died.

So...no one else?

RE: They fall in love!

Ah, this is a fun game. Let me try my story.
He's a molecular biologist and part-time tour guide on board a space station, trying to solve a tricky biochemical puzzle involving color-changing paint.
She's a genetic botanist and closet mad scientist, a newcomer to the space station with father issues trying to find the key to successful hydroponics.
They fall in love!
(Somewhere in the middle there are hyperagressive mutant space roses.)
+=+=+=+
Screnzy '08: Ceres. It's a romantic comedy between two mad scientists in space.
NaNo 2007: The Dragon Herald. (It's really not much like it sounds like.) Failed pretty badly, blah. :-/
NaNo 2006: Jerusalem O'Kira, Blockade Runner. I WON!

He's a Mexican national and a doctor, in the US on a fellowship. She's a woman who's a professional and an Aspie (though not a "professional Aspie"). They fall in love!

Does it last?

RE: They fall in love!

What fun!

He's a bored Count's son with a Peter Pan complex whose family is losing money and power and whose crazy sister turns him into a frog. He's a scruffy, impulsive, slightly violent new-money kid with an even bigger Peter Pan complex who's (much to the crazy sister's annoyance) practically part of the family. They fall in love!

She's a scheming Count's daughter whose mother died when she was thirteen, leaving her to grow up and take over the responsibilites of the house, who badly wants to advance her family's position- badly enough to turn her brother into a frog and make him marry the heir to the throne. He's a somewhat older, very sensible King (of Bohemia) with a huge rose garden and an unsentimental exterior but a soft heart. They fall in love!

(Oh man- my mind is really in the show I was in that just closed. After writing those, I started thinking, "He's a Mama-clutching, asprin-splitting, six-foot tower of jello. She's a Spanish tamale from Allentown, PA. They fall in love!")
