Words vs. pages

Anyone else struck by the difference? I like how word count led to such interesting numbers, but pages are so solid. Also, I feel nano's wordcount encouraged flights of fancy, while i feel that a more polished thing is expected from this. Anyone else feel like that?

Or should I just have "Exposition Guy" and "Subtext Guy" or whatever also as characters, to give my meta-writing a place to bloom?

(yeah, day 1 jitters)

RE: Words vs. pages

Yeah, the page count drives me crazy. I'm so used to counting words now. You can always do creative numbers like 1.3425 pages if you really need the wacky numbers, or have they thought of that here?

RE: Words vs. pages

I enjoy the page count over word count. It'll keep me from hitting the word count button every five minutes to see if I've reached my daily goal yet. ^_^

EDIT:: Scratch that. 100 pages is going to be....nothing. TT~TT I miss the frantic insanity of NaNoWriMo already!!!
