There are 20 subscribed SFers to Asia-other! So where are you?

I'm not exactly in Asia--I'm in Micronesia, Saipan, CNMI to be exact. There's no forum for us, and by American standards we're usually lumped with Asia (as in Asia-Pacific Islands).

How does your location inform your story? I've got islanders who use names in quite unusual ways. I eventually hope to use some of the language rhythms, too (but that is too much work during this phase of the writing).
