Late bloomers - cheering you on!

Hi, it's coming up to the 15., the half way mark, and I am gutted - I have not had time to do much at all, apart from scribbling little notes to self at spare moments along the way, but I have not given up!

So when I saw all these other threads; shout-outs for all sorts of double digit page numbers, I thought there would have to be others out there who are stuck, delayed, innundated with other work, who have lost faith in the story, lost inspiration, had work deleted by devilish computers, fallen ill etc, etc, but who are STILL UP FOR IT and can STILL MAKE IT if they just GET ON WITH IT and START NOW because it is NEVER TOO LATE and we still have more than TWO WEEKS LEFT, so come on, pull your socks up, put your mind and preferred writing tool to it and let's all give a big, supportive, incouraging cheer for the late bloomers!

We can do it, people. Let's get the ScriptFrenzy total page count up, up, up! We can rest in May!!

All the best, cheering you all on,
LM

RE: Late bloomers - cheering you on!

That's the spirit! Anyone else out there want to shout it out and feel the warm glow of renewed hope? If your plot sucks, jump to the end and write a few pages there! If your characters are stubbornly refusing to act and speak, bring someone else into the room (I volunteer) shouting at them for being lazy! I reeeeally want to do this, and if I can, you can.

So! Get on with it! You know you want to!

All the best,
LM

... you have more than me! :D ... one page more, actually, I haven't updated my page count today. >.<

I'LL MANAGE IT, STILL. JUST YOU WAIT. ... maybe...

And you'll manage it too, if you have the, er... whatchamacallit, the WILL.

RE: Late bloomers - cheering you on!

I was half-hearted about doing Screnzy at all this year (I won last year). The switch to April threw me off my rhythm.

On March 15th, I thought I might.

On March 25th, I thought I probably wouldn't, after all... Just didn't feel like it.

Then, I woke up April 1st, undecided. It wasn't until I had breakfast and my coffee that I decided to go for it, after all. Except... I had absolutely no idea what to write. No images, no characters, no time, no place.

I flailed around several days until I finally settled on something. I didn't actually start writing until day before yesterday (oops. It's after Midnight-- two days before yesterday).

Now, I just hope we're allowed to round up to the nearest whole page in our page counts ;-)

RE: Late bloomers - cheering you on!

My goal was to get caught up this weekend... didn't happen. But I'm slowly chugging along, AND I WILL MAKE IT, by golly!

I've been chippinh away at scenes at work today... which is good and not. I'm drawing inspiration from my job, but I'll be in serious trouble if one of my students catches a glimpse at my screen!

RE: Late bloomers - cheering you on!

Yay! I like the sound of fierce and frenzied determination! Last night I wrote 11 pages, and if I can do it, anyone can do it. Keep up the good work and the hard slog, get those words down and keep on going line by line, scene by scene, and before you know it, you'll be there!

All the best,
LM

Late boom indeed. I started a week late and after reaching the quarter mark decided to restart. xP.

I really like the support on this thread. Honestly. =).

RE: Late bloomers - cheering you on!

There's nothing like a 113-pager to cheer someone on.

Anyway, I'm really about to give up. I need other people to tell me to get my act together or I'm going to do it, and lose all hope in myself.

RE: Late bloomers - cheering you on!

Anyway, I'm really about to give up.

I know the feeling.

I felt pretty good about my play when I went to bed, in the post-midnight hourse of the morning, but ever since I've gotten up today, I can hardly bear to even look at the thing.

Right now, I'm seriously considering switching to a completely different plot, and wondering if, if I loved the story, if I could finish 100 pages in 15 days...
