validation problems

Okay. I've found the validator! yay.

I saved my Celtx as a pdf document. yay.

I uploaded my pdf script into the validor. yay.

and then I get a message that either I have uploaded a document that is not pdf, or I've got zero pages.

hmm. I've got somewhere between 53 and 56 pages (depending on which Celtx page count I use-script or typeset). But I've got something.

What am I doing wrong? Or is this a validator problem?

RE: validation problems

I just tried to validate my 71 page Celtx to pdf file and got the same error. I tried converting it to different file formats (one page of instructions said text so I tried that and failed). It doesn't seem to want to work. If you or somebody figures it out let me know - i'll do the same if I figure it out.

Would suck to have come this far and not be able to properly upload the file and get a valid page count - I'm so close. It is also very unfortunate that the program I'm using (celtx) i found on the site here.

I'd like to think that the validator is just having PMS issues or something technological and it isn't us that are having problems. I think I did what I needed to do correctly...

Peace, C

RE: validation problems

When I tried to validate a PDF I made by printing my word document to acrobat (In the FAQ it might be helpful to add how to get a PDF out of a word document, by the way), I got the same thing.

Originally, I tried to validate a ".doc" which obviously didn't work. Then I thought it was the file name, but I still get the "Not a valid PDF/0 Pages line.

Glad to see I'm not the only one, though.

RE: validation problems

It worked for me.
I just found out my 65 pages are 60.
So I have to write 40 to make it.
But I will manage to do that

RE: validation problems

Hmm, that's surprising - it worked for me too and the page count didn't change at all.

I'm using the latest version of Celtx. Could everyone put in what they're using/what they did to make the PDF when they post saying if it did/did not work? Would be interesting :) and may also help the tech figure out the problem.

RE: validation problems

I just click on type set and then save PDF
and then on the page validator I upload it and get 60 pages in my page count

RE: validation problems

I had 107 pages (including title page) written in FD, saved as pdf within FD.

The validator says it's 107 pages. So, no complaints here.

RE: validation problems

BrokenWings - do you have your 'Format' (which is in 'Format Options' in TypeSet) set to International or American?

Oh, and what paper size? US letter or A4?

RE: validation problems

Hi Keladryie,

I shouldn't worry too much about the difference in page format between US Letter and A4.

The super-duper, high-tech, script-analysis and verification widget just accepted a PDF of 78 completely blank business cards. It analysed them thoroughly, and reported that my script was 78 pages long.

Ian

(BTW, I have a script - currently with 78 pages in it, as it happens - to use as an emergency backup should the requirements change)

RE: validation problems

I don't know about the first one.
But the paper size is A4
I have installed the Dutch version of Celtix so I don't know where to find it.
But you need to have a celtix account. Or else it won't work at all.You can create one under the help section.
