On the verge of giving up? Please don't! Support needed!

I think the title says it all - anyone else still not even half way there and still not giving up? I have finally finished a deadline and still really want to have a go at reaching the 100 pages! Anyone else reluctantly tempted to join me? Let's give it another go, don't carry on from where you were if you got stuck, just write To Be Cont'd and start on a new scene. Remember, it's only the amount of script that matters, the amount of output, so never mind if it didn't turn out the way you hoped.

Come on, folks! Laptops at the ready!

RE: On the verge of giving up? Please don't! Support needed!

I'm with you. It's going to be a struggle but I still believe it's doable. Something worth doing is worth failing at first if it gets you a little closer to success the next time. Even if I don't get to page 100 in time, I still have quite a few pages of writing I'm proud of to keep me motivated enough to finish what I've begun.

Here's your pat on the back for 35 pages done and an extra push from behind to let you know I believe in you and I think you can do this! Go be prolific! : )

RE: On the verge of giving up? Please don't! Support needed!

It's doable! On the 19th I was at 37 pages and ready to give up. Then I was at 48 on the 20th, 79 on the 21st, and I finished on the 22nd with exactly 100 pages.

Come from behind wins are the best. You can do it!

There's the motivational speach I was looking for. =) We can definitely do this. Yes, it will be hard work and might require us to forego sleep for a few days, but we can make that up after April, right?

My main problem is this: not only have I been neglecting my screenplay, but I've been neglecting three projects that are all due either this week or next week, so I really have to dedicate my time to them. I think I'm getting up at 6:30 every day (weekends included) from now until next Friday (when 20 page casino paper is due) in the hopes of finishing everything on time.

:D I think I'm probably the worst off of anyone on Screnzy (barring people who haven't started yet). But I still have hope. It's faint, but it's there.

You can still do it! I was in the thirties just a few days ago. Just type a bit every time you sit down, it all adds up.

RE: On the verge of giving up? Please don't! Support needed!

A bit of an "update" reaching 100 pages is definitely doable...

On the 23rd, I was at 15 pages
On the 24th, I went up to 29 pages
And now, the 25th, I'm at 50. So I figure if I write a bit over 10 pages a day for the rest of the days left, I'll squeeze in on time.

Anyone can do it if they're really determined :) Go for it!

RE: On the verge of giving up? Please don't! Support needed!

Anyone thinking of giving up, DON'T. I'm a "last-minute deadline" kind of person. Every single WriMo I've won, I've come from behind in the last week to win. My greatest comeback ever was for FebNoWriMo (at NaNoPubYe), when I pushed myself to the limit to write 40,000 out of 50,000 words in the last 3 days to finish the first (admittedly awful) draft of my '07 NaNoWriMo novel, Bad Company. If I can do it, then anyone can if they put the effort into it. That's my pep talk for the day...

RE: On the verge of giving up? Please don't! Support needed!

I spend time writing then wonder if it matters so late in the game. The whole validation process also has me worried. Depending on what style I use, my page count is either 55 or 62 pages (big difference) but it could be the difference between finishing and...not! I'm hating my story too so maybe I give up in style from here. What say you all?

I was only on 55 pages like you a few days ago, and now I'm at 99 - meaning it CAN be done my friend!
